Rose-tinted memories
The past week was loaded with sentimental feelings.
46 YEARS RESTORED:
I joined my best friend from sekondi college , Ambassador Francis Abakah , to say final goodbye to his beloved mother , who adopted me as one of her own , when we were school.. Ma Elizabeth, God keep you! I met classmates I’ve never seen since we parted 46 yrs ago ! We ate, laughed and teased one another. ( they only laughed at the frontal pot!). Griffin and Monique, thank you for keeping us together! I drove through the school compound to find some Form 1 boy to homo! But the guys looked so tiny I wonder whether our parents were that ‘wicked’ to have sent us to boarding school at that age! I think we were more mature!
Snr CASTRO:
Then bumped into my personal person, Snr Isaac CASTRO Bosomtwi, the man who led me to CHRIST in 1975!! O my! He looked still vibrant and handsome . I love you sir! I pray in heaven I would have the honour of polishing your shoes as I did at Sekco!
What more can I say?
The ROADS
The only downside of the trip was the troubling reality that the road we drove on from winneba to Takoradi 50 years ago was better than the road today! Maybe, just maybe, things would change!
The PRAH RIVER
This river once flowed like liquid crystal, its waters so clear that you could see every pebble resting on its bed and every fish gliding beneath the surface. It sang a gentle song as it wound through the land, bringing life, beauty, and peace to all who came near. But today this same river bears a different story. Its sparkling waters have turned a murky brown, clouded by neglect and burdened by pollution. The stones that once shone beneath the sunlight are hidden from view, and the vibrant life that danced within its depths seems to have faded away. What was once a symbol of purity now appears wounded and weary, as though carrying the sorrow of all that has been lost.
Its brown waters seem to whisper a silent plea for restoration, longing for the day when they will run clear again and reflect the beauty they once held.
Back to Accra! Busyness of Business as usual!!
