We climaxed the campaign with an interactive theatre performance in partnership with the Embassy of the Netherlands in Ghana at the Jamestown Community Theatre Centre.

We had the pleasure of hosting and engaging with over 100 young people from the Ga Mashie communities and surrounding areas. Together, we participated in fun and meaningful conversations about positive masculinity, healthy relationships and ways to tackle digital violence against women and girls through interactive theatre performances.

As we intensify our campaign during the ongoing , we shine a light on the critical issue of Intimate Partner Violence (IPV).

IPV occurs in many relationships and we must not normalize this harmful practice. Together with the Embassy of the Netherlands in Ghana, we stand firmly against Intimate Partner Violence and call on all relevant institutions to deliver justice for survivors.

We invite you to share your thoughts: what can we do as individuals to help end Intimate Partner Violence?

Women and Girls are more at risk of being victims of digital violence or online abuse?

Here’s why: Given that girls and young women are more likely to use technology for learning, accessing information and connecting to peers, they also face increased exposure to online violence. One global study found that 58 per cent of girls and young women have experienced some form of online harassment.

Together with the Embassy of the Netherlands in Ghana, we are shinning lights on digital violence.

It’s Day 9 of the global campaign on ending all forms of violence against women and girls.

Let’s talk about Doxxing!
It is the act of publicly providing personally identifiable information about an individual or organization, usually via the Internet and without their consent.

We’ve had many instances where young women have had their private information published on the internet which most at times put them in a state of fear and humiliation.

It was an amazing event as we hosted Minister Foort van Oosten, the Dutch Minister of Justice and Security, H.E. Jeroen Verheul, the Netherlands Ambassador to Ghana, the Ngleshie Assembly member and other dignitaries from the embassy, alongside residents from Ga Mashie, to unveil the mural.

With support from the Embassy of the Netherlands in Ghana, we collaborated with the talented artist H Nii Nortey, known for his painting and graffiti work, to create a mural that raises awareness against gender-based violence. This artwork amplifies the message of the global campaign at the local level.

Do you know what cyberbullying is?

According to a 2025 UNICEF U-Report, nearly half of young people in Ghana have experienced online violence, with more than half of those reporting emotional distress as a result. Research also indicates high rates of cyberbullying among high school and university students, with some studies showing that nearly all student participants have encountered it at some point.

We must be intentional in our engagements with young people, especially young men, to help them understand the harmful effects of cyberbullying and the lasting damage it inflicts on victims.

Let’s discuss this year’s crucial theme: Ending Digital Violence Against Women.

Digital violence against women, also known as technology-facilitated violence, encompasses a range of harmful behaviours, including cyber harassment, stalking, doxxing and non-consensual image-based abuse, such as deepfakes.

Together, we must promote the healthy use of social media and remain vigilant against any form of abuse directed toward women in this space. It is our collective responsibility to foster a safer online environment for everyone.

Join the conversation and let’s create change!
