When men engage, families thrive.

Male involvement in contraceptive uptake is critical to improving family health and wellbeing, particularly in Ghana’s Northern and Upper East Regions.

Led by Project Lead Anthony Agbesi, with Millicent Addai and Elizabeth Mawuko, DKT International Ghana recently engaged communities in conversations on the benefits of family planning.

The response was inspiring — over 70 men participated! 🙌🏾

We discussed how family planning benefits the family, community and Ghana as a whole.

And we’re not stopping here. The plan is to take these conversations to more regions across Ghana. 🇬🇭

In an effort to bridge the knowledge and service uptake gap in contraception and family planning among professional women, our team in Sierra Leone has launched Project Horizon, a dynamic workplace-based initiative designed to educate and empower young female professionals with accurate information on reproductive health and family planning.

The pilot program officially commenced at the National Revenue Authority (NRA), where approximately 50 female staff members participated in an interactive sensitization session on SRH, family planning, healthy birth spacing, and myth-busting around modern contraceptive methods.

Project Horizon seeks to create safe spaces for women in the workplace to learn, ask questions, and make informed decisions that support both their personal well-being and professional growth.

Somewhere in Ghana, Liberia, or Sierra Leone, a 17-year-old girl is fighting to hold on to her future.

She dreams of staying in school.
She dreams of building a career.
She dreams of choosing when and if she becomes a mother.

But for millions of young women across West Africa, those dreams can be cut short by the lack of access to something many people take for granted: safe, affordable contraception and healthcare providers who treat them with dignity, not judgment.

At DKT Anglophone West Africa, we believe no girl’s future should be determined by where she was born or what services she can afford.

That is why we are working to reach 1 million more women and girls with lifesaving reproductive health products, services, and information.

Every donation helps a young woman stay in school, protect her health, and keep control over her future.

Our campaign is now live, and we invite you to stand with her.
