It was an honour to participate in the in-person 10th Summer School on Sustainable Chemistry for Sustainable Development at Leuphana Universität Lüneburg in Germany. This experience provided an exceptional opportunity to immerse myself in a rich learning environment, surrounded by experts and peers from diverse backgrounds. This year's topic, "Sustainable Chemistry and Safe-and-Sustainable-by-Design," was particularly enlightening. The diverse knowledge shared by lecturers and participants greatly enriched my perspective and understanding of the field. Engaging in discussions, workshops, and industrial trips (IFF) allowed me to gain practical insights and forge valuable connections with fellow professionals committed to advancing sustainability through chemistry. The Global Framework on Chemicals (GFC), often referred to as the Bonn spirit, was anticipated in as discussions continue and stakeholders worldwide work on developing an International Legally Binding Instrument on Plastic Pollution, Including in the Marine Environment ( -4). For hashtag , implementing a Global Plastic Pollution Fee (hashtag ) on producers would not only help raise funds for efficient management but also influence the type and amount of plastic produced, thus aiding in pollution reduction.

As a representative of Ako Foundation and Ghana, I believe that the treaty should be transparent, addressing current and future challenges related to plastic pollution. It's important to emphasize that this effort is not about fighting plastic itself but rather combating plastic pollution.

Over the past two weeks, I have been immersed in a whirlwind of activities, with marking a significant milestone in my experiences. The event provided a captivating platform to explore the interconnectedness of Climate Change and toxic chemicals. My journey commenced as a speaker addressing the crucial topic of "Decent Livelihood for Youth in Food and Agriculture" at the Food Systems Pavilion. During this session, I shared insights from the AAko Foundationefforts to address challenges within the youth and food system nexus.

Participating in one of the press conferences organized by AbibiNsroma, I emphasized the critical link between climate change and the escalating impacts of chemical pollution on both human health and the environment. It is disheartening to witness how climate change exacerbates toxicological effects on human health, wildlife, and the broader ecosystem.

An inspiring development during was the inaugural physical meeting of the African Youth Alliance for Chemicals and Waste ( ). This gathering aimed to tackle the challenges that young people face in dealing with issues related to toxic chemicals. Witnessing global leaders come together and unanimously agree to transition away from fossil fuels was a truly remarkable and encouraging moment.

In summary, my engagement at provided invaluable insights into the urgent need for addressing the intricate connections between climate change, toxic chemicals, and the challenges faced by young people. It was heartening to witness collaborative efforts toward sustainable solutions, and I am eager to contribute further to these crucial discussions in the future.
