🚨 Have you or someone you know been a victim of cyber blackmail or scam? 🚨

You’re not alone, and it’s time to speak up! Whether it’s blackmail, scams, or online threats, too many stories go untold and unresolved—especially among marginalized and vulnerable groups in our society.

🗣 Share your story anonymously with VOIICE and help us shine a light on these experiences. Together, we can protect others from falling into the same traps.

📅 Join us this Saturday at 6 PM for an insightful conversation with Richard Siaw and Gideon Adjaka from Hope Alliance Foundation on how to navigate cyber threats, protect yourself, and create safer online spaces.

🌟 Empowering the Next Generation: VOIICE School Outreach 🌟
On November 29, 2024, VOIICE took a significant step in advocating for safer spaces and informed communities through school outreach programs at God’s Glory Academy and Bennet School.
At God’s Glory Academy, around 50 students participated in the screening of Veiled, a powerful film shedding light on male sexual abuse and other forms of gender-based violence. Following the screening, 20 students joined a dynamic workshop where they explored crucial topics such as consent, bodily autonomy, and recognizing and addressing sexual violence. Through interactive art-based activities, students were empowered to understand their rights and the importance of seeking help when violated.
Meanwhile, at Bennet School, over 200 students of varying age groups engaged in similar impactful activities. The screening of Veiled and age-appropriate workshops emphasized the reality that sexual violence can affect boys as much as girls. The workshops didn’t just inform but inspired—encouraging students to become advocates for change in their communities.
These sessions weren’t just about education; they were about creating safe spaces, fostering open dialogue, and equipping young people with the tools to navigate and challenge issues of sexual violence.
Together, we’re building a generation that understands, supports, and advocates for a violence-free world. 💜

What an incredible night at the private screening of Veiled! 🎥✨ Under the Male Survivors Project and as part of the against gender-based violence, we came together to shine a light on male sexual abuse and the urgent need for awareness, empathy, and change.

The evening featured a thought-provoking panel discussion and a powerful Q&A session that allowed participants to share insights, ask important questions, and engage with the critical themes of the film. We are deeply grateful to our panelists— , the producer, director, and actor of the film; Belinda Nketia, a GBC journalist passionate about addressing misinformation and advocating for survivors; and , a dedicated advocate from VOIICE, working tirelessly to create safer spaces for marginalized communities. Your voices were the highlight of the evening. 💜

A heartfelt thank you to for bringing this groundbreaking film to life and to Andy Siaw for his brilliance as the producer, director, and actor. Your storytelling is inspiring and vital in breaking the silence around male sexual abuse.

A special thanks to for not only hosting us in such a beautiful space but also catering for the event with such care. Your support added so much to the success of the evening.

We are profoundly grateful to our funders, IWPR and CJID, whose support made this impactful project a reality. Thank you for believing in this cause and amplifying the voices of survivors throughout this entire project.

The turnout and engagement were a testament to the power of storytelling and the importance of community in addressing gender-based violence. Together, we’re making strides toward a world free from violence. Thank you to everyone who came out and made this event unforgettable.

The British Journal of Psychiatry notes that 79% of men who commit sexual violence were once victims themselves. And if 1 in 6 men are researched to experience some form of sexual violence in their lifetime-1in6.org, it’s too staggering to keep silenced.

Ahead of our campaign, “16days, 16 voices” where everyday will see a production of male survivor stories starting tomorrow in line with the Global campaign against sexual and gender based voilence, we seek to announce a twitter space happening on the 6th of December, 2024 at 4pm GMT. You can schedule to be part if you don’t want to miss it here https://twitter.com/i/spaces/1OyJAZQLVByxb

Did you know that 1 in 6 men will experience some form of sexual violence in their lifetime, according to 1in6.org? Research by the Gender Center also shows that 37% of male students in Ghana experience sexual violence in school.

Although male sexual abuse in Ghana is often underreported, a 2021 study by Quarshie revealed that 11% of boys in sampled schools reported experiencing sexual violence.

Yet, little is being done to address this issue. With no formal policies or support structures in Ghana for male survivors, VOIICE is working to make our support systems accessible while advocating for policy changes.

As part of this year’s Global 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, VOIICE presents: “16 Days, 16 Vooices”—a media campaign aimed at sharing the real-life experiences of male survivors and raising awareness.

Visit link in bio to see several ways to get involved and support this under supported issue. You can share too.
