Ignition LXIX: Set Standards and Stay Focused!
First: Set very very high standards for yourself and make sure you obey your set standards. Never ever disappoint yourself and fall below. Set principles to power your set standards, set borders and BOUNDARIES to guide your standards. You will definitely thank yourself in the future if you do this so well and follow it through. Stay focused, I tell you!
Second: Never ever succumb to emotional blackmailing, not even yourself blackmailing YOU. Here, external factors are key to luring you into blackmail and sometimes social engineering. We are all gullible and vulnerable in this regard; everyone! Develop a tough mindset for your own good. See, people carry garbage around deliberately or inadvertently, and let me emphasize again that some people don't even know they are carrying garbage. It is then your sole duty to siphon through these garbage avoiding them if and when necessary or selectively dealing with those who are not even aware of the garbage they carry around, that is, if only they admit it. But the most important thing is that each garbage encountered or successfully tripped on you must be a valuable lesson learned. I tell you again, stay focused, do not flinch. Protect yourself!
Third: Come what may, be KIND! The most beautiful language, a Universal tongue in the Universe is KINDNESS. If you speak kindness, every door opens for you without you having to turn any k**b. Everything falls for you falaa!
Finally but universally colossal is another universal language called GRATITUDE. I have already released dozens of lessons on the gratitude lifestyle; the underpinning of all virtues, the mother of all virtues and the need to be grateful in all challenges and situations. Do not worry whether people show gratitude for your kindness or not, no! You are not even entitled to any offerings of gratitude, Allah owns it all; YHWH owns it all; Jah owns every single gratitude in this Universe so do not crave to be appreciated with gratitude. The sad part is that people would never say or talk about what you have done for them.
So, that just means that you don't owe any gratitude. Remember in one of my Weird Philosophy series, I posited that if a party should be thanked at all, it should be the RECEIVER of a kind gesture, not the GIVER or DOER. I offered explanations to that effect; If I help you, I must thank you for allowing me to help you, not you thanking me because I was kind to you. You didn't beg me to be kind to you. In most cases, you could even do without my help or the other person can do that so why claim expression of gratitude from recipients?
If in any case, you wish people would be ungrateful for your kindness, and they are not, RELAX. The Universe runs a supreme software that respects no one when you go wrong against it. The laws/algorithms of this supreme software are what we call Natural Laws; if you drink a lot of water, you micturate frequently - this is the epitome of a Natural Law and it translates to doing something excessively and bearing the corresponding repercussions. Newton's third law of motion: to every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction is also a Natural Law. Whatever goes around comes around is a Natural Law. Mathematics is a Natural Law!
Guess who adjudicates the Natural Supreme Court; the same judge I have always spoken about, Judge TIME! Judge Time ensures that every human being reaches a Point Of Reckoning where we reassess our ourselves and our actions and pass true judgment on ourselves, sometimes making sure that the chicken returns to roost...so why worry?
There is ALWAYS a breaking point where everything dawns on you where you may even EXCLAIM to yourself, aaah Awurade, m'ade nkwasiasɛm oo... M'anu me ho!
A young man just walked out of my bungalow this morning after a four-day visit; his words: Systems, I am going to make amends and get better, I promise you. I need some of your books. I will get back to you soonest. Unfortunately, my books don't leave my place so I denied him and asked him to go and buy his own, hoping he saw my denial as a latent move of teaching him to learn how to buy books and read.
God is for everyone. God is watching!
