A HUGE thank you to Mr. Sheriff, Headmaster of Ummuraniya Islamic School.

We are incredibly grateful for your kindness and progressive leadership in allowing us to use your school for our Menstrual Health and Hygiene Program.

Because you opened your doors, 170 young girls in our community received vital education on menstrual hygiene management, breaking the silence and building confidence that will last a lifetime.

Your support proves that when we invest in girls’ health, we invest in our community’s future. Thank you for standing with us.

We may be late to the “official” party, but we are right on time for the change. 🩸✨

Today, we stood with the young queens of Umuraniyya Islamic School in Tuba to remind them that their voices matter and their health is a priority.

We believe that menstruation is not a weakness; it is a superpower. Every day is an opportunity to break the silence, shatter the stigma and ensure that no girl feels ashamed of her natural cycle. We are committed to a world where every girl, regardless of her background, menstruates with dignity.

Because we don’t just wait for one day, we advocate every single day. 🌍💪

Commemorating World Menstrual Hygiene Day with Aminu Initiative Ghana!

Though the day itself has passed, we believe every day is Menstrual Hygiene Day because somewhere, a girl is menstruating right now.

Together, we’re working toward a where no girl or woman is held back because of her period.

🩸 Periods don’t stop. Neither should her dreams.
Today is Menstrual Hygiene Day 2026 and at Aminu Initiative Ghana, we’re breaking the silence, one conversation at a time.

No girl should miss school, work or opportunity simply because she has her period.

Yet stigma, lack of access to sanitary products and poor hygiene facilities remain real barriers.

🧡 This is a call to action:
✅ Educate a boy.
✅ Support a girl.
✅ Donate pads where needed.
✅ Normalize period talk everywhere; from homes to parliament.

Together, we can ensure every girl and woman in Ghana manages her period safely, confidently and with dignity.

As we commemorate Prophet Ibrahim’s unwavering trust in Allah, let’s remember to extend kindness to the less privileged in our communities.

At Aminu Initiative Ghana, we believe no should miss school because she’s menstruating.
Her biology is never a reason for shame or stigma.

That’s why we visit schools in rural areas to educate both girls AND boys. Because everyone, no matter where they live deserves to understand .

When boys learn, they stop being bystanders. They become allies and advocates.

Let’s break the silence Together.

At the Junior Community Center, our work doesn’t stop at the community center. It ripples across Ghana. From education to advocacy to community sensitization, everything we do has one goal: Impact.

We are not just starting conversations. We are changing society one mindset at a time. By breaking harmful silences around menstrual hygiene, breast cancer, and drug abuse, we are reshaping narratives that have held communities back for too long.

But our greatest investment? Young people. We are shaping good future leaders; ethical, informed and courageous enough to build a healthier, more just society. Because when you change how a young person sees the world, you change the world itself.
