To climax the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Based Violence, AWLN Ghana partnered with the Judicial Service and UN Women for a powerful Stakeholder Engagement.

Under the global theme *“UNiTE to End Digital Violence Against All Women and Girls” and the event theme “Upholding Rights, Delivering Justice: The Judiciary’s Role in Curbing Gender-Based Violence in Ghana,”* the dialogue brought together leaders, experts, and partners committed to strengthening justice systems and safeguarding the rights of women and girls — both offline and online.

The discussions highlighted the urgent need for stronger legal protections, survivor-centered judicial processes, and coordinated national action to end all forms of GBV, including emerging digital harms.

AWLN Ghana extends sincere appreciation to the Judicial Service of Ghana, UN Women, our invited stakeholders, speakers, and all participants whose contributions enriched this critical engagement. Together, we reaffirm our collective resolve to build a Ghana where justice is accessible, survivor voices are heard, and gender-based violence has no place in any space.

Today, we honour the strength, resilience, and leadership of African women across the continent and in the diaspora. African women continue to shape our future — challenging inequality, driving innovation, and advocating for justice.

🖤 Here's to the women who lead, resist, heal, build, and rise — today and every day.

oday is Menstrual Hygiene Day — a reminder that menstrual health is central to gender equality, education, and public health.

The silence, stigma, and structural neglect around menstruation perpetuate inequality and undermine girls’ rights and well-being.

In its place, AWLN Ghana is organizing a webinar today at 2 pm to raise awareness about menstrual hygiene. Theme: "Flow with Confidence, Prioritizing Menstrual Hygiene" Register here: https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/5iX62xJcSqaqSe6seSc97Q

Let's go beyond awareness to:
🔹 Integrate menstrual health into national education and health policies
🔹 Remove taxes on sanitary products to make them affordable for all
🔹 Support local production and distribution of reusable menstrual products
🔹 Create safe, inclusive spaces to talk about menstruation without shame

Menstrual hygiene is not just a health issue—it’s a development priority.
It’s time we act boldly to end period poverty and ensure dignity for every girl and woman in Ghana and beyond.
