ADDAD Ghana took its sensitisation exercise on domestic workers' rights and domestic violence and abuse to the health center, where the meeting engaged mothers and pregnant women.

The two-day sessions were opportunities to discuss domestic workers' rights, domestic violence and abuse, and available support.

During the sessions, participants gained knowledge of the significance of dignity, fair treatment, and safe working conditions, along with the necessity for protection against physical, emotional, sexual, and economic abuse.

Additionally, the sessions highlighted the urgent need to safeguard pregnant women and domestic workers from violence and exploitation.

ADDAD GHANA, an association for the defence of the rights of domestic workers, engaged young women seamstresses in an apprenticeship on domestic workers' rights.

The meeting was held to inform them about the fundamental rights, dignity, and security of domestic workers, highlighting several policies, laws, and regulations that support domestic work and domestic workers, especially the Labour Domestic Workers Regulations, L.I. 2408. This regulation assigns responsibilities to both the domestic worker and the employer.

However, the participants were informed about the crucial role ADDAD Ghana plays in building a society where domestic workers, vulnerable women, and children enjoy their fundamental rights, dignity, and security.

A group of women in the Abokobi community of the Ga East Municipal Assembly participated in a sensitization exercise on the respect and protection of domestic workers' rights. The exercise was conducted by ADDAD GHANA. The interactive presentation underscored the adverse living and working conditions that numerous domestic workers encounter, a situation primarily attributable to their ignorance regarding the legal implications of domestic work.
The participants were apprised of the Labour (Domestic Workers) Regulations L.I. 2408, which specifies the rights and obligations of both the domestic worker and the employer of a domestic worker.
There is a comprehension of the role that ADDAD GHANA plays in the promotion and protection of domestic workers' rights, as well as the placement of value on domestic work.
