Today, we celebrate the power of skills to create opportunities for young people.

Through the project, "Support for Local Training Providers in Ghana", DSIK has facilitated the skills training of 623 beneficiaries, mostly youth in various trade and vocational areas.

The trainings delivered by local training providers across the Ashanti, Bono, Bono East, Ahafo, and Northern Regions, equipped participants with practical skills to start and grow their own businesses, improve their livelihoods, and contribute to the development of their communities.

The project is implemented by German Sparkassenstiftung Western Africa on behalf of the Ghanaian-European Centre for Jobs, Migration and Development, of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) with co-funding from the European Union, implemented by GIZ Ghana, Deutsche Gesellschaft fรผr Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH.

Together with our partners, we improved financial inclusion for underserved and disadvantaged populations, especially women and youth, by strengthening credit unions and the broader microfinance ecosystem, thereby increasing access to sustainable financial services, economic opportunities, and entrepreneurship in West Africa.

The project is funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and implemented by German Sparkassenstiftung Western Africa, in partnership with Credit Union Associations in Ghana, The Gambia, Sierra Leone, and the Microfinance Directorate in Senegal.

One word to describe the German Sparkassenstiftung Business Games? ๐‡๐š๐ง๐๐ฌ-๐จ๐ง.

For five days, market women from Madina and Kasoa took a short break from their businesses to gain more knowledge in personal finance and business financial management.

Through the Business Games, participants reflected on the everyday decisions they make in their businesses and how those choices impact their finances, operations, and overall livelihoods. From customer segmentation and supplier selection to record keeping, improving quality of life, and business growth, the sessions encouraged practical learning, critical thinking, and informed decision-making.
