Rotary Club of Accra MorningTide Gives New Life to Donated Benches at Pantang Hospital

On Saturday, 9th November 2025, members of the Rotary Club of Accra MorningTide gathered at the Occupational Therapy Unit of Pantang Hospital to repaint eight lovers’ seat benches that were donated to the hospital three years ago.

These benches were part of the Club’s charter project, which envisions the complete renovation of the Occupational Therapy Unit to create a more welcoming and therapeutic environment for patients. While financial constraints have slowed the larger renovation plans, our Club remains steadfast in its commitment to seeing this vision come to life.

This weekend’s activity was not only about maintenance — it was a reaffirmation of Rotary’s spirit of service, sustainability, and community partnership. We continue to seek collaborations and partnerships with individuals, organizations, and corporate bodies who share our vision of improving healthcare and rehabilitation facilities at Pantang Hospital.

Together, we can make a lasting difference. 💙💛

On Saturday 6th September 2025 at 10am , we had the honor of hosting our District Governor, Nana Yaa Pokua Siriboe, at the University of Ghana, Legon Hall Conference Room. It was an insightful and inspiring engagement that has left our Club more motivated than ever.

DG Nana Yaa commended our progress as a young club and shared impactful guidance on how we can strengthen our journey. Key highlights of her message included:

🔹 Growing our membership base to build a stronger and more vibrant club.
🔹 Increasing our commitment to the Rotary Foundation, the lifeblood of Rotary projects worldwide.
🔹 Developing and implementing a clear strategic plan to guide our growth and service.
🔹 Enhancing our visibility through innovative approaches, including media engagements such as radio interviews and other outreach strategies.

Her encouragement reminded us that by working together with passion and purpose, we can expand our impact and truly live out Service Above Self.

We are deeply grateful to DG Nana Yaa Pokua Siriboe for her wisdom, leadership, and support, and to all members who participated in making this meeting a success. Together, we are building a stronger Rotary Club of Accra Morning Tide! 💙💛

Peaceful protests are a fundamental aspect of any democratic society. They provide citizens with a platform to voice their concerns and hold governments and public institutions accountable for its actions. Policing ensures that citizens can exercise their rights without fear of violence or intimidation. However, we have had recurring instances of police brutalities against protesters.

This raises questions about the state of our democracy and the need for immediate action to address police misconduct and the associated perennial blame game from protesters, politicians, and the police.

The Rotary Club of Accra Morning Tide invites you to join us on the above talk.

*Speaker:* Ace Lawyer and Journalist Manasseh Azure, the Editor in Chief of Fourth Estate.

*Topic:* Peaceful Democratic Protests and Police Brutalities: the law, politics and policing; a perennial blame game or conundrum?

*Date:* Saturday, 28th October, 2023

*Time:* 9am.
