๐Ÿคฐ๐ŸฝGhanaian moms-to-be, let's talk about folate-rich foods to support a healthy pregnancy! ๐Ÿฅ—

Folate helps prevent birth defects like hydrocephalus and supports baby's growth.

๐ŸŒฟ Folate-rich meals include:

- Kontomire stew (leafy greens)๐Ÿฅฌ
- Beans and lentils ๐Ÿซ˜
- Groundnuts ๐Ÿฅœ
- โ Avocado ๐Ÿฅ‘
- Oranges ๐ŸŠ

But let's also acknowledge the reality: caring for a child with developmental delays or disabilities can be challenging โ€ผ๏ธ

It's not just about medical care; it's about emotional support, financial strain, and navigating systems.

๐Ÿฅ Access to resources, healthcare, and understanding can make a huge difference.

March is Women's Month, a time to honor the strength and resilience of women worldwide ๐ŸŒน.

As we celebrate, let's remember:

women's health isn't just about them โ€“ it's about the lives they nurture.

Meet Ma Florence, a mother in Kumasi, Ghana, caring for her son Seth, who has deficits from a brain tumor.

Her love and strength is extraordinary, but like many caregivers she needs support.

At HEAL Homecare Advocacy Foundation, we're committed to advocating for caregivers like Ma Florence, ensuring they get the resources they deserve.

This Women's Month, let's amplify the voices of women caregivers and work towards a world where they get the care they give. ๐Ÿ’˜

HAPPY INTERNATIONAL WOMENโ€™S DAY! ๐ŸŒน

Today, we honor the unsung heroes โ€“ caregivers like Ma Florence, who we met at a pediatric physical therapy department in Kumasi, Ghana, where her son Seth receives care.

In this video, Ma Florence shares her inspiring journey as a caregiver of her son who had a brain tumor and suffers from delayed development delay.

Despite facing medical expenses, lack of supplies, and no government support, Ma Florence's love and resilience has inspired us!

At HEAL Homecare Advocacy Foundation, we're advocating for hygiene products to be recognized as essential in Ghana's NHIS, supporting women and girls and caregivers of disabled persons.

Ma Florence's story highlights the strength of women caregivers everywhere, often battling invisible challenges.

Let's uplift and empower these women every day! Again, happy international womenโ€™s day! โค๏ธ

๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ‰ Friends, 2025 was a year of perseverance for HEAL Homecare Advocacy Foundation!

Despite facing challenges, we're proud to share that we reached 524 caregivers, women, and girls in Ghana. ๐ŸŒฑ

This year, we were stretched thin!

Our boxes were empty, referrals increased, and wait times lengthened, yet we didn't give up. Funding priorities shifted, but your unwavering support didn't waver.

Whether it's volunteering with us, hosting a collection box, or spreading the word, think about how you show up for women and girls in your community.

We want you to know that we are grateful for your hands and feet! ๐Ÿ‘

THANK YOU for being part of our mission and journey and we look forward to this new year!!!! ๐Ÿ˜ƒโœจ

Our most URGENT essential item of the month is bar soap. ๐Ÿงผ

Imagine caring for a child and not having access to soap or hot water.

Unfortunately, many caregivers experiencing long-term homecare may not have access. Thatโ€™s where we step in!

Happy Friday, friends โ˜€๏ธ

Normalizing period poverty is a terrible thing - it's not just about access to sanitary products, it's about dignity, education, and opportunities. โ€ผ๏ธ๐Ÿ‘‘

When girls are forced to miss school due to lack of menstrual hygiene resources, they're not just missing out on class - they're missing out on their future. โญ๏ธ๐ŸŒธ

As we wrap up the year, we hope that by educating young girls about menstrual health, providing them with hygiene essentials, and creating a supportive community, we're helping to level the playing field. ๐Ÿ“š

Every school that allows us to educate their students is helping to improve the gap between girls who have access to menstrual hygiene resources and those who don't.๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿฝโ€โ™€๏ธโญ๏ธ

HUGE thank you to the amazing students and staff of Lahagu Islamic Junior High School for being rockstars and making this initiative a success! ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฝ We're honored to work with you! ๐Ÿ™Œ

And a massive thank you to our incredible volunteers in the Northern Region for facilitating yet another successful school initiative! Your dedication and passion are the driving force behind Project Bloom. ๐ŸŒธ๐Ÿซถ

๐Ÿฅน Friends, we're still buzzing from our final school visit of 2025 with Project Bloom! ๐ŸŒธ

A huge shoutout to the amazing students and staff at ๐Ÿ“Lahagu Islamic Junior High School for being rockstars and making this education experience unforgettable! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

Our incredible volunteers empowered 100 school girls with menstrual health knowledge, hygiene essentials, and a safe space to ask questions without judgment. ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿฝโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ“š

Because every girl deserves to own her body, own her power, and own her education! ๐Ÿ’ช

โ€ผ๏ธBut here's the thing: in some communities in Ghana, menstruation is still a taboo topic. ๐Ÿค

โ€ผ๏ธ This can lead to girls feeling ashamed, confused, and left behind. But we believe that education is key!

๐Ÿ“š That's why we're on a mission to break the silence and create a supportive community where girls can thrive.
