*TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN*
The ANC executive led by Acting President Chief Dr. Bayor Albert Asaolu has never written to the embassy seeking a cover letter to register a new ANC as claimed by some individuals.
ANC is a nonprofit, none governmental organization that funds its activities by seeking donations and sponsorship from individuals and cooperate organizations. Therefore, the current ANC soliciting funds should not be a debate. Only individuals who don’t mean well to the community would make a fuss about it.
As the umbrella body for all Nigerians in Ghana, the executive deemed it fit to regularly interface with the High Commissioner and the High Commission on the welfare of Nigerians in Ghana.
These meetings, though not open to the public are not “secret meetings.” They are usually attended by Heads of the various Constituent Communities and other stakeholders.
Yes, it is true, the deliberations and conclusions of such meetings are never published. Nevertheless, it does not mean the agenda or issues discussed are parochial or self-aggrandizing. We assure you they are always and will always be about and in the best interests of all Nigerians in Ghana.
Yes, the executive demanded for a cover letter from the High Commission but that was to *RENEW* the ANC registration with our host government as was required by the Registrar General. It was never about creating a new ANC. It is worth noting that this was something started by the last administration.
A delegation led by Chief Okorie went to the Registrar General Office and made the findings. Government is a continuum. We are only continuing that effort.
Most of the persons who did the initial registration are no longer residents of Ghana. Therefore, the Registrar General demanded a letter from the High Commission to make the renewal. Otherwise, ANC remains an unregistered organization.
The current executive wrote to the community bank for a change of signatories. The bank only wrote to the High Commission to confirm the identity of the new signatories.
The current administration has been funding its activities from the individual pockets of the executives. Nobody, not even the high commission has given the current administration any pesewas.
As was mentioned earlier, all of these happenings are well known to the Heads of the constituent Communities.
We don’t forbid anyone from seeking to know what happened between ANC and the High Commission. But when you do, please don’t distort the truth. Doing so only widens the division gap we are earnestly working to bridge.
It is highly commendable that individuals are showing interest in the activities of the ANC. We only want such individuals to use their influence and interests to unite and not divide the community.
At our forthcoming national congress (Details will be announced later), a report on all activities including the finances of the community will be given in detail.
If you have any questions or clarification, kindly contact your community head and stop the spreading of fake news.
I am reiterating that Acting President Chief Dr. Bayor Albert Asaolu and the entire executive council are sincere in their commitment to serving the community Honorably.
We believe together we can move mountains.
God bless you.
Long live ANC Ghana
Long live Ghana
Long live Nigeria
