FASUL strengthens WATSAN committees through community-focused training in Ejisu...

Behind every sustainable community water system are people who take responsibility for keeping it working.
Family Support Lifeline recently organised a WATSAN Committee workshop in the Ejisu area, bringing together representatives from communities including Nkyerepoaso, Juabenba, Kokodie Manhyia and others.

The workshop provided a platform for community representatives to learn, share experiences and strengthen their capacity to manage and sustain water and sanitation resources within their communities.
Because providing water is only part of the journey.
FASUL's work is strengthened by the support and collaboration of our international partners, including the Kiphart family and partners in Chicago and the University of Chicago's Center for Global Health, whose partnership continues to contribute to initiatives in water and sanitation, education, health and community development.

WHEN KNOWLEDGE BECOMES ACTION. 🌱

Real community development is not only about building infrastructure.
Sometimes, it begins with people coming together to learn, share experiences and discover practical ways to create change.

Family Support Lifeline recently organised a community workshop in Mansokwaa, Central Region, bringing participants from different communities together for learning, dialogue and practical engagement.
The session provided an opportunity for community members to interact, exchange ideas, ask questions and strengthen their understanding of issues that affect their families and community.

At FASUL, we believe that empowered people build stronger communities.
Our work is strengthened by the support and collaboration of international partners, including the Kiphart family and partners in Chicago and the University of Chicago's global health partners, whose collaboration has contributed to FASUL's work across education, health, water and sanitation, livelihoods and community development.

🌍 THE REAL MEASURE OF IMPACT ISN’T WHAT WE BUILD , IT’S WHAT CHANGES AFTER WE LEAVE.

A borehole is a structure.

A repaired school is a structure.

A training session is an activity.

A community project is an intervention.

But impact?

Impact is the child who can now spend more time in school because water is closer to home.

Impact is the family that no longer has to depend on an unreliable or unsafe source of water.

Impact is the community that begins to believe that their challenges can be addressed.

Impact is the knowledge gained, the confidence built, the opportunity created, and the hope restored.

At Family Support Lifeline (FASUL), we have learned that development is not simply about doing something for a community. It is about working with communities to address challenges that affect their everyday lives.

From restoring essential water infrastructure to supporting education, health, livelihoods and community development, our work is guided by one question:

“What difference will this make in someone's life?”

Because behind every project is a person.

Behind every intervention is a family.

And behind every family is a future.

That is why we don't want our work to be remembered simply by the number of projects completed.

We want it to be remembered by the lives improved, opportunities created and communities strengthened.

When the Water Stopped, Hope Wasn't Lost: FASUL Restores Communities Lifeline

For some time, communities in Ghana's Central Region and the Ashanti Region had been living with a broken-down well that had remained non-functional.
For families who depended on this vital source of water, the challenge was more than a broken facility. It meant dealing with the daily difficulty of accessing an essential resource.
Recently, Family Support Lifeline stepped in to support the restoration of the wells, in the Juabenba and Nkyerepoaso communities among others in the Ashanti region as well as Beni kwa village in the Central region of Ghana,bringing these important community water source back to life. 💧
This intervention is about more than repairing infrastructure.
It is about restoring access.
It is about supporting healthier families.
It is about protecting dignity.
It is about strengthening communities.
At FASUL, we believe that meaningful development begins by listening to communities and responding to the challenges that affect their everyday lives.
A functioning well may seem like a simple thing, but for the families who depend on it, water can mean health, time, opportunity and hope.
Today, water flows again. And with it comes another reminder that small interventions can create meaningful change. 🌱

FASUL Pays Courtesy Visit to the Ejisu Municipal Assembly :

Family Support Lifeline (FASUL), together with our esteemed partners Kipharts Foundation and the Center for Innovation in Global Health (CIGH), Chicago, paid a courtesy visit to the Ejisu Municipal Assembly to formally introduce our organizations, present the community-centered work we undertake, and explore opportunities for strategic collaboration aimed at improving the well-being of communities across the Ejisu Municipality.

The meeting was fruitful and highlighted the importance of partnership between NGOs and local government in areas such as education, water and sanitation, health, youth empowerment, and community development.

We are grateful to the Assembly for the warm reception and look forward to working together to create sustainable impact for families and children across the municipality.

BUILDING CLEANER COMMUNITIES, TOGETHER

As we close another week, we're reminded that creating lasting change begins with the choices we make every day.
Strong communities are built not only through major development projects, but also through simple acts of responsibility keeping our surroundings clean, protecting our environment, and looking out for one another.

As communities across the country participate in the National Sanitation Exercise today and tomorrow (Saturday), we encourage everyone to take part. A clean environment promotes better health, protects our children, and creates safer, more dignified places for families to live and thrive.

At FASUL, with our Chicago partners - the Center for Innovation Global Health at the University of Chicago and the Kiphart Foundation, we believe that sustainable development starts at the community level. When we work together to keep our neighborhoods clean, we are investing in healthier families and a brighter future for generations to come.
As you head into the weekend, let's all do our part. Every swept street, every properly disposed piece of waste, and every act of environmental stewardship contributes to the Ghana we all want to see.

SMALL ACTIONS , LASTING CHANGE

Every thriving community begins with one simple act of care.

A child attends school because someone believed education mattered.

A mother walks a shorter distance because clean water is now within reach.

A young person discovers a new future because someone invested in skills rather than charity.

Development is not measured only by the projects we complete. It is measured by the opportunities we create, the dignity we restore, and the hope we leave behind.

As we begin this new week, let us remember that meaningful change doesn't always start with grand gestures. Sometimes it begins with listening, partnering, and choosing to make a difference, one family, one community, one child at a time.

🤝 A New Season of Partnership! 🤝
At FASUL, we’ve always believed that lasting change is built on strong relationships. That’s why our team recently paid a visit to the Juaben Municipal Assembly to connect with the local leadership and plan for the future! We had a fantastic, forward-looking meeting with the Municipal Coordinating Director. We shared FASUL’s journey since 2005, including our incredible partnership with the University of Chicago's Kiphart Center for Innovation in Global Health and discussed how we can better serve our communities together. Whether it's improving Education, providing clean Water & Sanitation, or boosting Health services, we know we can achieve so much more when we work hand-in-hand with local government. We are so grateful for the warm welcome and the shared enthusiasm for community development. Juaben’s underserved communities deserve the absolute best, and together, we’re ready to deliver.

YOUNG MINDS, SMART SECURITY: YOUTH GAIN PRACTICAL CCTV SKILLS

Family Support Lifeline, in collaboration with Rahmatek IT and Business Solutions, successfully organized a 2-day hands-on CCTV installation training on 4th–5th March 2026.
The workshop brought together enthusiastic youth from Juabenba, Kurofofrom, Nkyerepoaso, and Abesewase, equipping them with practical skills in CCTV setup, installation, configuration, and maintenance. Through demonstrations and practical sessions, participants gained valuable knowledge that can open doors to employment, entrepreneurship, and improved community security. At Family Support Lifeline, we believe empowering young people with practical skills is key to building stronger and safer communities.
👏 A big thank you to Rahmatek IT and Business Solutions for partnering with us to make this impactful training possible.
Together, we are creating opportunities and shaping brighter futures for our youth.
