came together for a transformative 2-day workshop hosted by Maven Heart Foundation and UPCYCLE it Ghana .

Through hands-on training in upcycling waste textiles, participants gained vital skills to build self-reliance and spark sustainable change in their communities.

Ghana is one of Africa’s top importer of waste textiles. As we fight against waste colonialism, we develop creative solutions to curb the situation.

with creativity and purpose driven ideas, we’re turning that challenge into opportunity. 💪🏾♻️

Ghana receives 15 million secondhand garments weekly, with 40% ending up as waste. Much of this waste pollutes our environment—from landfills to beaches and waterways. Through UPCYCLE, we are taking action to reduce textile waste by giving discarded fabrics a new life while creating economic opportunities for women.

Thanks to the generous donation of sewing machines from Mama Meg, her husband, and the Robert Family Foundation, we are empowering women to transform textile waste into valuable products. This initiative not only provides practical skills but also supports our mission to educate young people about climate change and environmental action.

Together, we can reshape waste into wonder. Stay tuned for inspiring stories of transformation!

The beautiful smiles on their faces can depict the endless joy in their hearts! 🥰

These incredible mothers are so grateful for the support from Mama Meg and her husband, made possible by the Robert Family Foundation.

The donation is geared towards encouraging us to continue training women who’s children attend our school to pursue UPCYCLE ♻️.
This is an impact we need and we are grateful for the support towards doing that.
