CEDA CONGRATULATES Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah ON HIS NOMINATION AS MINISTER DESIGNATE FOR LANDS AND NATURAL RESOURCES

The Center for Environmental and Development Advocacy (CEDA) extends its warmest congratulations to Hon. Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, MP, on his nomination by President H.E. John Dramani Mahama as Minister Designate for Lands and Natural Resources.

Hon. Buah's appointment is a testament to his dedication, expertise, and passion for environmental conservation and sustainable development. While we acknowledge the numerous challenges facing the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources, we are confident that under Hon. Armah-Kofi Buah's leadership, the ministry will effectively implement policies that safeguard the environment, tackle illegal mining, and promote vital land reforms aimed at driving overall growth and development.

PRESIDENT JOHN MAHAMA’S DECISION TO REFOCUS THE MINISTRY OF ENERGY TO THE MINISTRY OF ENERGY AND GREEN TRANSITION IS COMMENDABLE

The Center for Environmental and Development Advocacy (CEDA) commends the new President John Dramani Mahama-led government for its decision to refocus the Ministry of Energy as the Ministry of Energy and Green Transition. This bold move underscores government’s commitment to sustainability and addressing global climate challenges through the promotion of renewable energy, energy efficiency, and low- carbon development.
We also commend the government’s decision to reduce the number of ministries, this decision demonstrate a commitment to fiscal responsibility and efficient governance. It is our believe that this step will help streamline decision-making and focus resources on critical national priorities, including the energy transition and environmental sustainability.
The creation of the Ministry of Energy and Green Transition represents an opportunity for Ghana to lead in Africa’s green transformation through innovation, attracting investment in clean technologies, and building a sustainable future.
