*Part 2*

The devil’s oldest strategy hasn’t changed since Genesis.

He doesn’t start with the sin. He starts with a thought. A whisper. A “did God really say...?”

If we don’t catch it in the mind, it will show up in our actions. That’s why 1 Peter 5:8 tells us to be sober and alert.

Through Project Genesis, I’m learning that purity begins in the thought life. Guard your mind today - because what you think today will shape what you do tomorrow.

Sim rarely starts with the action. First, it drops a thought in your mind.
Then you entertain it.
Then the action follows.
Then it becomes sin.

That was Satan’s playbook with Eve in Genesis, and it’s still his playbook with us today. He deceives subtly to destroy souls. The danger is that we often don’t see him working - so we fall for his schemes. And when the act is done, we’re the ones who bear the responsibility.

*1 Peter 5:8* reminds us: _“Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.”_

This is why purity of thought matters. What you allow in your mind will eventually show up in your life.

My prayer is that God sharpens our discernment. That we recognize the whisper of the enemy early, and by His Spirit, choose to resist him before the thought becomes action.

Through *Project Genesis*, we’re reminded that every day is a new beginning. A new chance to guard our minds, renew our devotion, and walk in Christ.

*Comfort feels good. That’s its trap.*

It whispers that you’ve earned rest, that you deserve ease, that safety is the goal. And slowly, imperceptibly, it destroys you.

A life dedicated to comfort becomes a life of stagnation. Your muscles atrophy. Your mind dulls. Your spirit withers.

You were not built to be comfortable. You were built to grow, to struggle, to adapt, to overcome. Comfort is the enemy of all of that.

As a pastor and songwriter, I’ve realized God rarely calls us into comfort zones. He calls us into growth zones. The same way a seed must break open in dark soil before it becomes a tree, we must break past comfort before we step into our Genesis - our new beginning.

Through Project Genesis, I’ve learned that worship, ministry, and even personal growth are born in struggle. The moment you choose growth over comfort, you choose the life God designed you for.

So today, ask yourself: What’s one “comfort” you need to let go of to step into what God has next for you?

*They think they’re pulling you down. They don’t realize they’re pulling on God.*

That’s why you’re still standing.

Every trial, every opposition, every person who underestimated you... they weren’t just fighting you. They were fighting the One who called you, who anointed you, who sustains you.

I’ve learned this both as a pastor and as a gospel songwriter: when God is the one holding you up, no weight can break you. When God is the one defending you, no attack can destroy you.

That’s the heart behind *Project Genesis*. We’re created for new beginnings, not destruction. God’s power keeps us standing long after the world expected us to fall.

If you’re in a season where people are trying to pull you down, remember this: they’re actually pulling on God. And He doesn’t fall.
