🌍 Today, December 3rd, marks the UN International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD)
✨ Theme: “Fostering disability-inclusive societies for advancing social progress.”

The Rotary Club of Accra-Teshie Nungua (RCATN) proudly joins the global call to “build a just, inclusive, and equitable world”—a commitment reaffirmed at the Second World Summit for Social Development in Doha.

💪 To demonstrate our dedication to inclusivity, we will:

✅ Donate mobility aids
🎅 Spend joyful “Santa” time with beneficiaries of our Ɔkamafoɔ Project at the Mephibosheth Training Centre near Apam, Central Region, on Wednesday, 17th December 2025.

🌟 Ɔkamafoɔ Project: Giving Voice to the Voiceless 🌟

🎯 2025 Focus:
We’re kicking off with a powerful panel discussion featuring policymakers, implementers, and beneficiaries — all to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion.
We’re also advocating for teaching and learning materials for our beneficiaries.

Background
Launched in October 2023, the Ɔkamafoɔ initiative by the Rotary Club of Accra-Teshie Nungua is dedicated to advocating for and supporting the needs of the least heard in our communities — in partnership with sister clubs and generous donors.

📌 Year 1 Highlights (2023):
✅ Advocated for mental health inclusion in NHIS — and we were heard!
✅ Donated 20 wheelchairs, cerebral palsy aids, and medication worth GHS 20,000 to Mephiboseth Training Centre (MTC), with support from 12 Rotary Clubs and 20+ sponsors.

📌 Year 2 Impact (2024):
✅ NHIS expanded to cover 4 specific mental health disorders.
✅ Donated GHS 25,000 worth of medication to Pantang Hospital.
✅ Delivered more wheelchairs and walking aids to MTC — with a heartwarming Santa-style visit!
