Omolola Precious of YMCA Nigeria brings her Change Agent series to a close with the final entry. ✨

This time, she reflects on what it means to move from learning to action.

Someone has to imagine a different world. Someone has to start building it.

Precious explores what happens when you stop being a spectator and start designing change intentionally.

We stand in solidarity with the victims

🔻Four years since the full-scale war began in Ukraine, its impact is still felt across Europe and beyond. Millions of lives have been changed by displacement, fear, and uncertainty, and the need for solidarity remains as urgent as ever.

Since February 24, 2022, the YMCA movement has responded with unprecedented unity. Through joint initiatives, partnerships, resource mobilisation, and prayer, volunteers and staff have stood alongside communities at local, national, and international levels.

Together with YMCA Europe and YMCA Ukraine, we have strengthened coordination, expanded our impact, and supported a new generation of young leaders shaped by resilience and hope: https://www.ymcaeurope.com/ukraine-4-years-of-solidarity-action/

*NOTICE TO ALL MEMBERS – GREATER ACCRA REGION*

Dear Esteemed Members of Greater Accra Y family,

This is to formally inform all members in the Region that the membership renewal and new registration window will officially close on 10th March.

We therefore urge all members who are yet to renew their membership, as well as individuals who are yet to complete their registration with their respective branches, to do so before the stated deadline.

Membership renewal is not only a requirement but also a demonstration of commitment to the growth and sustainability of our branches and the Region as a whole. Staying financially and administratively active strengthens our collective voice, enhances participation in programs, and ensures proper representation at all levels.

Kindly contact your branch leadership immediately to regularize your status.

Let us all take responsibility for the progress of our movement by ensuring we are fully registered and renewed before 10th March.

Thank you for your cooperation and continued dedication to the YMCA.

Best regards,

Regional President

On Sunday, 22nd February 2026, the Regional President and Regional Director paid a working visit to the Prampram YMCA during their General Meeting as part of ongoing efforts to revive and strengthen dormant branches across the region.
The visit formed part of a broader regional strategy aimed at reactivating branch activities, restoring structure, and deepening membership engagement at the grassroots level. During the meeting, members were updated on key happenings within the region as well as upcoming programs and strategic initiatives designed to reposition the YMCA in the region for greater impact.
The delegation also held a brief but productive engagement with the leadership of the branch. In their remarks, the Regional President and Regional Director encouraged the leadership to remain committed, focused, and dedicated to their mandate. They emphasized that the work of the YMCA is largely a sacrifice, requiring selflessness, consistency, and passion for service, but assured them that their efforts are vital to the growth and sustainability of the Association at the branch.
The visit reaffirmed the region’s commitment to supporting Prampram branch and all other branches in building vibrant, active, and impactful local association.
Together, we continue to strengthen the movement and advance the mission of the YMCA in our communities.

🔥 A Call to Action to All YMCA Greater Accra Members 🔥

The strength of our YMCA does not rest only on elected leaders — it rests on every single member.

We have reached a stage where each of us must take active interest in the growth and vibrancy of our respective branches, and by extension, the entire Greater Accra Region.

A strong branch does not happen by chance. It requires:
• Regular meetings
• Intentional planning
• Meaningful programs
• Committed participation

If meetings are not being held in your branch, do not sit back.
Reach out to your branch leaders. Ask questions. Seek clarity. Encourage action. Offer support.

Leadership must be responsive — but membership must also be responsible.

Let us move from spectators to stakeholders.
From observers to contributors.
From passive members to active builders.

The future of YMCA Greater Accra depends on branches that are alive, organized, and purpose-driven.

Your voice matters.
Your participation matters.
Your branch matters.

Let us all rise to the responsibility.
