Over the weekend, Happy Daffodils hosted the AI for Social Change workshop at the University of Ghana for non-profit, civic tech, and civil society leaders, led by our Founder and Executive Director, Celestine Serwaa Agropah.
The focus was simple and practical. Building an effective human-AI partnership: positioning AI as a valuable thinking partner rather than a replacement for human judgment and mission-driven expertise.
Throughout the session, participants explored:
✅ Core prompt engineering frameworks for higher-quality, reliable outputs.
✅ The realities of GIGO (Garbage In, Garbage Out) and reverse engineering.
✅ Information integrity, digital safety, and navigating deepfakes and scams.
✅ Understanding Large Language Models: why statistical word prediction means AI can be confidently wrong, making human verification essential.
✅ Leveraging NotebookLM for accurate, source-backed organizational work.
Seeing civil society leaders design multi-step prompts directly tailored to their organizations’ daily workflows highlighted the power of practical digital skills.
At Happy Daffodils, this is at the heart of our mission: equipping changemakers with practical digital tools that drive measurable, real-world community impact.
This training was delivered as part of the Digital Activism Program / AI for Social Change initiative by TechSoup and Hive Mind with support from Google.org.
