With Let's do it Ghana and amazing partner organizations, we rolled up our sleeves to clean our shores, separating plastics from weeds to give our ocean a fighting chance.
But one thing stood out this time: piles of waste on the ocean was filled with diapers and styrofoams washed up with the tide.
This raises big questions:
*Will it always take volunteer groups to do the heavy lifting?
*What role are coastal businesses playing in tackling the waste on their doorsteps?
Our oceans are crying for urgent action. We hope to move beyond one-day cleanups to policies, partnerships, and accountability that stop pollution at the source.
