CRS Ghana Catholic Relief Services is the official international humanitarian agency of the Catholic community in the United States. We love your comments! Stay on topic.

This morning, our team, led by the Country Representative, met with directors at the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection to strengthen our long-standing partnership in advancing the well-being of , , and populations, especially in underserved and hard-to-reach communities.

Discussions focused on shared priorities, including gender-responsive programming, early childhood development (ECD), maternal and child health, and skills development and economic empowerment opportunities for young women in Ghana.

During the meeting, our Country Representative presented CRS Ghana's 2025 Impact Report and expressed appreciation to the Ministry for its continued partnership, leadership, and support.

Together, we will continue to build on this partnership to advance inclusive, gender-responsive programmes that create opportunities, strengthen families, and improve the well-being of women and children across Ghana.

Every minute matters when a mother, newborn or child needs urgent medical care.

Yesterday in Talensi, Upper East Region, CRS Ghana, with funding from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, handed over six renovated and expanded office facilities to the National Ambulance Service (NAS).

The ceremony in Talensi also represented the handover of facilities in Nabdam in the Upper East Region; Mamprugu Moagduri in the North East Region; Yendi and Nanumba North in the Northern Region; and Central Gonja in the Savannah Region.

The improved facilities will provide better administrative and operational spaces for NAS personnel to coordinate emergency response and referral services.

The handover is part of the Holistic Opportunities for Positive Engagement in Maternal and Child Health (HOPE-MCH) Project, which has also supported NAS with 20 Modified Motor-Tricycle Ambulances, 10 motorcycles and two Emergency Dispatch Centres in the Northern and North East Regions.

Together with NAS, Ghana Health Service and our local partners, we are working to strengthen and services and improve access to timely care for communities facing barriers to emergency healthcare.

Last week, representatives from the Netherlands Enterprise Agency, the Embassy of the Netherlands in Ghana, and Holland Greentech joined CRS and the Department of Agriculture on a field visit to Afayili Community in the Northern Region to see firsthand how farmers are building resilience in the face of challenges.

The visit showcased how farmers under the CRS-implemented AGILE project are adopting climate-smart farming practices, accessing improved seeds, and using community savings groups to invest in their livelihoods. The delegation also visited a dry-season vegetable garden, where access to water from the White Volta is creating opportunities for year-round food production and income generation.

The visit provided an opportunity for direct conversations with farmers and community leaders about the project's impact and the investments needed to sustain and scale these gains.

Funded by the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Accra, the ๐€๐ ๐ซ๐ข๐œ๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ญ๐ฎ๐ซ๐š๐ฅ ๐†๐ซ๐จ๐ฐ๐ญ๐ก ๐š๐ง๐ ๐ˆ๐ฆ๐ฉ๐ซ๐จ๐ฏ๐ž๐ฆ๐ž๐ง๐ญ ๐Ÿ๐จ๐ซ ๐‹๐ข๐ฏ๐ž๐ฅ๐ข๐ก๐จ๐จ๐ ๐„๐ง๐ก๐š๐ง๐œ๐ž๐ฆ๐ž๐ง๐ญ (๐€๐†๐ˆ๐‹๐„) ๐๐ซ๐จ๐ฃ๐ž๐œ๐ญ has already supported over 600 smallholder farmers to adopt climate-smart farming practices, helping families build more secure livelihoods.

Over the past year, our interns and National Service Personnel have brought energy, curiosity and fresh ideas to CRS Ghana. They supported our programmes, took on new challenges, learned from one another and made their mark on our team and the communities we serve.

As their internship and National Service journeys come to an end, we celebrate not just what they contributed, but how much they have grown.

Held under the global theme, โ€œ๐ˆ๐ง๐ฏ๐ž๐ฌ๐ญ ๐ข๐ง ๐๐ž๐š๐œ๐ž: ๐…๐จ๐ซ ๐„๐ฏ๐ž๐ซ๐ฒ๐จ๐ง๐ž, ๐„๐ฏ๐ž๐ซ๐ฒ๐ฐ๐ก๐ž๐ซ๐ž, ๐„๐ฏ๐ž๐ซ๐ฒ ๐ƒ๐š๐ฒ,โ€ the commemoration placed young voices at the centre of discussions, highlighting the critical role young people play in building peace today and sustaining it for generations to come.
