We are excited to announce a strategic partnership between the Kofi A. Tawiah Foundation. and the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE Gh). This collaboration demonstrates our shared commitment to nurturing responsible, values-driven leaders and citizens across Ghana.
The National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) is an independent state institution mandated to promote and sustain democracy and inculcate in the Ghanaian citizenry the awareness of their rights and obligations, through civic education.
The Kofi A. Tawiah Foundation. is a registered not-for-profit organisation that is committed to developing essential character traits in students and young people for good citizenship. One of our flagship initiatives, the Kofi A. Tawiah Good Citizenship Challenge, is a nationwide programme designed to develop strong character and encourage civic responsibility through service learning.

By popular request, we are pleased to announce that the deadline for expressing interest in the Kofi A. Tawiah Good Citizenship Challenge has been extended to 30th April, 2026!
This is a great opportunity for all interested schools to be part of an inspiring journey where students take the lead in solving real challenges within their communities.

What an inspiring and interesting interview we had on Channel One TV, as we explored how the Kofi A. Tawiah Good Citizenship Challenge is shaping students into leaders, problem solvers, and real change-makers in their communities.
Together with these amazing learners from The Mccarthy Hill School and SOS-Hermann Gmeiner International College, we reflected on their community service initiatives from past editions of the contest and the impact these initiatives have had on their communities.

When some learners of the International Community School Ghana [Kumasi Campus] discovered a water challenge affecting Semenhyiakrom D/A Basis school, they did not ignore it, they took action.
The scarcity of water significantly affected the academic performance and well-being of the students at the school.
Inspired by the school's core values, the team initiated a project to construct a fully functional borehole and water system, which included two large poly tanks for both the school and the community.
Through innovative fundraising efforts, they were able to raise a substantial amount of funds to undertake such a capital-intensive project.
By mechanising the borehole and building an overhead water reservoir with a capacity of about 10,000 litres, the project greatly facilitated access to water for students, staff, and community members.
Clean water is now accessible at the school, allowing students to focus on their studies rather than missing classes to fetch water. Hygiene practices have improved, and absenteeism has significantly declined.
The students themselves learned the true meaning of compassion, gratitude, determination, teamwork and leadership.
These are some of the amazing initiatives that inspire us lot.
