🇬🇭 Let’s go Ghana – let’s bring National Sanitation Day back to life! 🌍🧹

Every first Saturday of the month, we meet at Osu Klottey Lagoon Beach for National Sanitation Day.

Sometimes we are many, sometimes we are only a few. Life is not easy, and especially in times of hardship and poverty, doing voluntary work is something very special.

But we keep going. 💚

We believe that protecting and caring for nature is like going to church. 🙏🏿🌱
It is our way of showing respect, giving something back and keeping faith in a better future.

We hope more people will join us – and that more partners and sponsors will help us grow this movement.

Join us this Saturday for National Sanitation Day!🧹🇬🇭

Every first Saturday of the month, we come together at the beach where the Osu Klottey Lagoon enters the sea.🌊

Every helping hand is more than welcome! 💚

After the cleanup, we set up our beach soccer field ⚽ and enjoy some drumming 🎶 with great drummers from the Kwaabuette School of African Music and Dance.

We give thanks for the big stage at Chale Wote Street Art Festival on Sunday, right in front of Independence Square, where we raised awareness about this crazy textile flood on our wonderful beaches. 🌊🌍

Together with Kake Dance Ensemble, we are already preparing a longer, two-hour performance with storytelling — combining dance, music and creative costumes made from textiles and waste we collect from our beaches.

But the waste keeps coming. Week after week, it feels like there is more, not less. Still, we won’t stop. We keep showing up, cleaning and fighting for a cleaner coastline. 🌍♻️

🕊️💚 On on we go.

Last Sunday, still in deep sorrow after the loss of our beloved brother and project leader Martin, his wife joined us at our weekly music and environmental workshop.

Before our workshops began, Nii Adjarh Torto, together with Fabrice on guitar, spontaneously played a few traditional rhythms for Martin’s wife. It was a quiet moment of love, remembrance and unity.

We are deeply grateful that Nii Adjarh Torto continues to carry this beautiful musical tradition forward, inspiring the next generation with the same love and dedication.

Martin’s spirit will always be with us.

Every Sunday, we keep going. Staying positive and staying together is the only way forward.
