Welcome to the third episode of our series.

In previous episodes, we explored the importance of tailoring your CV to a specific role and using keywords from job advertisements to pass AI-enabled screening systems.

In this episode, we focus on using a clear heading.

At the top of your CV, clearly state the position you are applying for. Avoid generic headings such as CV or Curriculum Vitae. Instead, use a professional title that aligns with the role, such as:

• Marketing Assistant
• Junior Software Developer
• Administrative Officer

A clear heading helps the recruiter instantly understand your career focus.

Follow this series for more practical tips to help you succeed in your job search.💪

In this episode of our 9 Golden Rules for an Effective CV series, we highlight the importance of using keywords from the job advertisement to help your CV stand out.

Did you know that many companies now use AI-enabled software to screen CVs before a recruiter even sees them?

To increase your chances of passing this first stage, your CV should include important keywords from the job advertisement.

These keywords often refer to:

• Required skills
• Job responsibilities
• Industry tools or knowledge

When describing your experience, skills, and achievements, use these terms naturally to show that your profile aligns with the employer’s expectations.

Matching the language of the job advert can help your CV get past automated screening systems and move one step closer to an interview.

Follow the series for more practical tips to help you succeed in your job search.

𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠: 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝟗 𝐆𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐞𝐧 𝐑𝐮𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚𝐧 𝐄𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐂𝐕

At YOTA, we are committed to ensuring that young people are well prepared for the job market with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed in their career journeys.

To support this goal, we are launching a new series titled “The 9 Golden Rules for an Effective CV.” Through this series, we will share practical tips to help young professionals strengthen their CVs and increase their chances of getting hired. This guide is based on the International Labour Organization’s Standard Job Search Guide.

In this first episode, we highlight one of the most important rules of writing an effective CV: One Position, One CV.

Your CV should be customised for every job application. It should clearly show the employer that your skills, education, and experience match the specific position you are applying for.

Before sending your CV:

- Carefully read the job description
- Identify the key requirements
- Highlight the experiences and skills that match those requirements

New episodes in the 9 Golden Rules for an Effective CV series will be released weekly, so follow along as we continue to share practical career tips to help young people succeed in the world of work.🤩
