A Call for Urgent Attention and Collective Action on the Flood Situation in Anloga District (Shime A & B)

I write with deep concern about the worsening flood situation in the Anloga District, with particular reference to Shime A and B. The impact of the flooding in these communities has become severe and deeply distressing.

On my recent visit last Friday with members of Royal Women in Cinema Ghana, I had the opportunity to personally assess the situation on the ground. What I witnessed was heartbreaking. Entire communities are struggling to cope, and the most affected are women, the elderly, and bedridden persons who are completely unable to care for themselves or seek help. The conditions are harsh, and the human suffering is evident at every turn.

As a woman and a mother, I left the community feeling deeply broken and emotionally overwhelmed by the level of hardship people are enduring. It is a situation that no one should be left to face alone.

This is a strong call to all sons and daughters of the land to come together and pool our resources, ideas, and efforts toward addressing this crisis. Beyond immediate relief, there is a pressing need to invest in sustainable solutions such as improved road networks, proper drainage systems, and better management of our river systems.

There is also a critical need to examine the construction of bridges and other infrastructure that can help protect these communities, which are repeatedly affected whenever there is heavy rainfall.

This is not a challenge that can be solved by one individual or single organization. It requires collective responsibility and coordinated action.

I respectfully call on the Member of Parliament, the Municipal Chief Executive, NADMO, assembly members, traditional leaders, Chiefs , opinion leaders, and elders to take urgent steps. We also extend this appeal to NGOs, government institutions, civil society organizations, and all stakeholders who are in a position to help.

The time to act is now. Our people need support, and they need it urgently.

As we come together in solidarity with our brothers and sisters during this difficult time, we humbly appeal to individuals, families, organizations, and friends to support this relief effort. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Mr. Darko-Mensah

Today, we celebrate a remarkable leader whose dedication to empowering young girls continues to make a lasting impact.

Your commitment was beautifully demonstrated this past World Menstrual Hygiene Day (May 28, 2026). Thanks to Empower Playgrounds’ generous donation of reusable sanitary pads to Shime A and Shime B Basic Schools, and hosted by Royal Women in Cinema Ghana at Trekume, we successfully championed menstrual health and helped young girls stay confident and in school.

On behalf of Royal Women in Cinema Ghana, thank you for your invaluable partnership and unwavering support.

As you celebrate your special day, may God bless you with good health, wisdom, strength, and continued success. May your new year be filled with greater achievements and abundant blessings! 🎉

With appreciation,
