The Egyptian Embassy in Ghana Organizes the First Virtual Business Forum with Broad Participation from Business Organizations and Specialized Companies in Both Countries
The Egyptian Embassy in Accra organized the first session of the joint Egyptian-Ghanaian virtual business forum, in cooperation with the embassy’s commercial office. The forum witnessed broad participation from business organizations and specialized companies operating in sectors such as construction, information and communication technology, food, and pharmaceuticals, in addition to the Unified Procurement Authority and the Drug Authorities in both countries.
Dr. Sherif El-Gabaly, Chairman of the African Affairs Committee of the Egyptian House of Representatives, also took part in an extensive dialogue that, for the first time, brought together around 90 high-level figures representing the business community and those interested in trade and investment in Egypt and Ghana. The event also included representatives from the Secretariat of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), who presented the facilities and customs exemptions provided by the agreement to facilitate intra-African trade.
Ambassador Wael Fathy, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Ghana, reviewed the developments in bilateral relations between the two countries, which are witnessing notable growth in the current period, building on their longstanding historical ties under the wise leadership of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and President John Mahama. The Ambassador highlighted trade and investment opportunities between the two sides, particularly in light of the increasing number of Egyptian companies operating in Ghana and contributing to its development plans.
The forum included several parallel dialogue and sectoral sessions aimed at enhancing discussions on key opportunities and challenges facing the growth of trade exchange between Egypt and Ghana. Among the key outcomes of the forum was facilitating the registration procedures for Egyptian pharmaceuticals in the Ghanaian market, reducing the process to just one month instead of the current 4–6 months. It also outlined practical steps to maximize market access opportunities in both countries, promote mutual business visits to explore joint manufacturing and export opportunities—especially in West Africa—and recommended reviewing and updating the bilateral contractual agreement to include vital sectors and emerging areas of cooperation.

السفارة المصرية لدى غانا تنظم منتدى الأعمال الافتراضي الأول بمشاركة واسعة من تنظيمات الأعمال والشركات المتخصصة فى البلدين
نظمت السفارة المصرية فى أكرا الدورة الأولى من منتدى الأعمال الافتراضي المشترك بين مصر وغانا بالتعاون مع المكتب التجارى التابع للسفارة وبمشاركة واسعة من تنظيمات الأعمال والشركات المتخصصة فى قطاعات المقاولات وتكنولوجيا المعلومات والاتصالات والأغذية والأدوية وهيئتي الشراء الموحد والدواء فى البلدين، فضلاً عن مشاركة الدكتور/ شريف الجبلى، رئيس لجنة الشئون الأفريقية بمجلس النواب، فى حوار موسع يجمع لأول مرة نحو 90 شخصية رفيعة تمثل مجتمع الأعمال والمهتمين بالتجارة والاستثمار فى مصر وغانا، ومن بينهم ممثلين لسكرتارية اتفاقية التجارة الحرة الأفريقية لعرض التسهيلات التى تتيحها الاتفاقية والإعفاءات الجمركية لتسهيل حركة التجارة البينية.
وقد عرض السفير/ وائل فتحى، سفير جمهورية مصر العريية لدى غانا، تطورات العلاقات الثنائية بين البلدين والتى تشهد تنامياً ملحوظاً فى المرحلة الراهنة امتداداً للعلاقات التاريخية بينهما، فى ظل القيادة الرشيدة لفخامة الرئيس/ عبد الفتاح السيسى والرئيس/ جون مهاما، وتناول السفير الفرص التجارية والاستثمارية بين الجانيين لاسيما مع تزايد أعداد الشركات المصرية فى غانا للمساهمة فى خططها التنموية. وقد شهد المنتدى تنظيم عدة جلسات حوارية وقطاعية موازية استهدفت تعزيز الحوار حول أهم الفرص والتحديات التى تواجه دفع معدلات التبادل التجاري بين مصر وغانا، وتمثلت أهم مخرجات المنتدى فى تيسير إجراءات تسجيل الدواء المصرى فى السوق الغانى لتصبح شهر واحد فقط وليس حوالى 4-6 شهور على النجو الجارى حالياً، ووضع خطوات عملية لتعظيم فرص النفاذ للاسواق فى البلدين والعمل على تنشيط الزيارات المتبادلة لمجتمع الأعمال لبحث فرص التصنيع المشترك والتصدير للخارج خاصة فى غرب أفريقيا، فضلاً عن التوصية باهمية مراجعة الاتفاق التعاهدى بين البلدين لتحديثه وتضمين القطاعات الحيوية ومجالات التعاون الحديثة.
