RE4C Durbar in Wusuta: Traditional Leadership Driving the Change
The Renewable Energy for Communities (RE4C) Coalition was honoured to be part of a powerful community durbar in Wusuta, Volta Region, where traditional leadership, community members, women, young people, and climate advocates came together to advance the conversation on a just energy transition.
It was inspiring to see the Queen Mother taking a leading role in championing change and amplifying the aspirations of the community for a cleaner, more inclusive and sustainable energy future.
Traditional leaders have a critical role to play in shaping community development. Their voices can help connect local priorities with climate action, renewable energy solutions, food security, livelihoods, and resilience.
The Wusuta durbar reminded us that the energy transition must not only happen for communities it must happen with communities and be led by communities.
When women lead, communities mobilise.
When traditional leaders speak, change gains momentum.
When young people participate, the future becomes brighter.
Together, we can build a just energy future where no community is left behind.
