🌱 როგორ შეიძლება სოფლის მეურნეობა გახდეს უფრო მდგრადი, რესურსეფექტური და კლიმატგონივრული?
3–4 ივნისს კაჭრეთში გაიმართა ორდღიანი სამუშაო შეხვედრა, რომელმაც გააერთიანა ფერმერები, აკადემიური წრეების წარმომადგენლები, კერძო სექტორი, პროფესიული განათლების ექსპერტები საერთო მიზნის გარშემო — საქართველოში მწვანე და მდგრადი სოფლის მეურნეობის ხელშეწყობა. 🤝
ღონისძიების მონაწილეებმა განიხილეს:

🚜 სამუშაო შეხვედრის მეორე დღეს მონაწილეები ეწვივნენ საგარეჯოს მუნიციპალიტეტის სოფელ უდაბნოში მდებარე სადემონსტრაციო სივრცეს — „მწვანე კონტეინერს“, სადაც პრაქტიკულად გაეცნენ ბიოგაზის, ბიონახშირისა და კომპოსტის წარმოების თანამედროვე მიდგომებს.
ღონისძიება ჩატარდა პროექტი "მდგრადი და მწვანე ბიზნეს პრატიკების განვითარება საქართველოში" ფარგლებში და დაფინანსებულია European Union in Georgia ევროკავშირის და ავსტრიის საერთაშორისო პარტნიორობის მიერ. პროექტი ხორციელდება World Vision ავსტრიის, World Vision in Georgia World Vision საქართველოსა, საქართველოს ფერმერთა ასოციაცია/Georgian Farmers' Association/Georgian Farmers' Association და EEC Georgia ენერგოეფექტურობის ცენტრი საქართვლოს ერთობლივი ძალისხმევით.

🌱 How can agriculture become more sustainable, resource-efficient, and climate-smart?
On 3–4 June 2026, a two-day workshop in Kachreti brought together farmers, academia, private sector representatives, vocational education experts to explore practical solutions for advancing sustainable agriculture in Georgia. 🤝
Participants discussed:
🌿 Green skills in dairy processing
🏭 Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production (RECP)
⚡ Energy recovery from agricultural residues
♻️ Innovative solutions for transforming organic waste into valuable resources
💧 Efficient use of water and fertilizers
🌾 Sustainable agricultural waste management
🔄 Circular economy models for the agricultural sector
🚜 On the second day, participants visited the “Green Container” demonstration site in Udabno village, Sagarejo Municipality, where they explored practical examples of converting agricultural waste into biogas, biochar, and compost.

The workshop was organized within the framework of the European Union in Georgia and the International Partnerships Austria funded project “Inclusive Growth through Sustainable and Green Business Practices in Georgia” The project is implemented by the joint efforts of World Vision Austria, World Vision in Georgia საქართველოს ფერმერთა ასოციაცია/Georgian Farmers' Association and EEC Georgia

☀️ Spain is leading Europe's agrivoltaic revolution — combining solar panels with olive groves, vineyards, and wheat fields on the same land.

Spain's solar industry has faced growing land use pressure. The vast flat plains of Extremadura, Castilla-La Mancha, and Andalusia that make ideal solar sites are also some of Spain's most productive agricultural regions. Communities and farmers who have supported renewable energy development are increasingly concerned about the conversion of productive agricultural land to exclusive solar use.

Agrivoltaic systems — where solar panels and agriculture coexist on the same land — are Spain's answer. Spanish agrivoltaic research programs at the University of Córdoba and the CSIC Institute of Natural Resources have demonstrated that many traditional Spanish crops benefit from the partial shade of elevated solar panels during summer heat. Olive trees, grapevines, and lavender all show reduced heat stress, lower irrigation requirements, and comparable or improved yields when grown beneath elevated solar arrays.

Iberdrola is developing 500 MW of agrivoltaic solar projects in Extremadura and Castilla-La Mancha — in partnership with local farming cooperatives that retain agricultural production rights while receiving solar lease income. The cooperative model ensures that the economic benefits of solar energy remain with local farming communities rather than being extracted by distant investors.

Spain's National Energy and Climate Plan now includes agrivoltaics as a specific category with streamlined permitting — recognizing that land-sharing models address the land use conflicts that threaten social acceptance of further solar expansion.
