Since the creation of the organization "Union of Georgian Azerbaijanis" informs the government about needs and expectations of representatives of the Azerbaijani community. Currently the organization brings together more than 300 free members. In 2007-2008 years "Union of Georgian Azerbaijanis» actively studied the problems of the Azerbaijani population in the Kvemo Kartli region. It is working on studying the state language with purpose of facilitates the process of integration of Azerbaijanis living in Georgia in the civil society and at the same time preserving the national identity, culture and language. It is elaborating original programs on bilingual education. participated in the project of correcting mistakes of school textbooks in Azerbaijani language arising in the translation from Georgian. Union is preparing quite interesting projects on gender equality related to as hidebound traditions and remnants.
