იმერეთის მთიან სოფელში ასობით ჩინელი და ქართველი მუშა საქართველოს ყველაზე გრძელ გვირაბს თხრის. ამ გვირაბმა ჩინეთიდან ევროპამდე გზა უნდა შეამციროს. აქამდე თითქოს დროში გაყინული სივრცე დიდი ცვლილებების მოლოდინით ივსება, თუმცა იმედებისა და დაპირებების მიუხედავად, უკეთესი მომავალი არ ჩანს. სოფელში შემოჭრილი გვირაბი ახალი გამოწვევების მიზეზი ხდება. ამბოხს ჯერ ადამიანები იწყებენ, შემდეგ კი ბუნება.

დისკუსიის მიზანია ცენტრალური ევროპის, კავკასიის და ბალკანეთის ქვეყნების მონაწილეებთან ერთად განვიხილოთ ის პასუხისმგებლობები, რომელთა წინაშეც ვდგავართ არასტაბილურობის, ომების, სოციალური კრიზისის და ღრმა გაურკვევლობის ეპოქაში. დისკუსია სწორედ იმ პერსპექტივებს შეეხება, რომლებიც ამ რეგიონების ისტორიული და თანამედროვე გამოცდილებებიდან გამომდინარეობს და, სადაც, ისტორიული მეხსიერების, თავისუფლების, სამოქალაქო საზოგადოების აქტიურობის, იდენტობის და პასუხისმგებლობის საკითხები უმნიშვნელოვანესია.
როგორი უნდა იყოს მწერლების, ინტელექტუალების, ხელოვანების და საზოგადოებრივ საქმიანობაში ჩართული ადამიანების პოზიცია? საკმარისია, რომ ვიყოთ კრიტიკულები? და რა ხდება მერე? როგორ ვაგრძელებთ ცხოვრებას უარყოფიდან პასუხისმგებლობისკენ?
პროექტი Dilemma Academy ხორციელდება Borderland Foundation-ის მიერ და ევროკავშირის პროექტის „შემოქმედებით ევროპა“ მხარდაჭერით. პროექტის თანაორგანიზატორები არიან Pen Armenia და Institute for Central European Strategy. პროექტის ფარგლებში დაგეგმილი საჯარო ლექციები ორგანიზებულია ილიას სახელმწიფო უნივერსიტეტთან დიზაინის ინსტიტუტთან თანამშრომლობით.

An old railway station in a remote valley of Georgia. One day, hundreds of Chinese settle around it in order to build the New Silk Road, a fast link between China and Europe. The villagers, hopeful at first, soon see their homes destroyed and the landscape dramatically reshaped.

The panel brings together voices from Central Europe, the Caucasus and the Balkans to reflect on responsibility in a time of upheaval, war, social fracture and deep uncertainty. The conversation will focus on perspectives shaped by the histories and present experiences of these regions, where questions of memory, freedom, civic courage, identity and public responsibility are especially urgent.
What should be the stance of writers, thinkers, artists, public intellectuals and people engaged in public life today? Is it enough to remain critical, to oppose, to refuse — and what comes after that? How do we move beyond negation toward responsibility understood as the difficult work of shaping institutions, communities, language and public space? What does it mean not to withdraw from the task of building?
This discussion asks what responsibility means today from the regional perspectives of Central Europe, the Caucasus and the Balkans: societies marked by conflict, transition, democratic struggle and competing visions of the future. It is a conversation not only about dissent, but about what should follow it — about responsibility for building, sustaining and imagining what comes next.
The Project Dilemma Academy is implemented by the Borderland Foundation and supported by Creative Europe program. Co-organizers of the project are Pen Armenia and Institute for Central European Strategy. The public lectures in the frames of the project are organized in cooperation with Ilia State University and Design Institute.
