A Youth Exchange doesn’t end when you fly home- its real value is what you bring back to your own community. ✨

📸🌿After returning from the "Seeing Beyond: Mindful Photography" project in the Czech Republic, Georgian National team hosted two dissemination activities in Georgia to share what they learned.

1. Photo Walk at Mziuri Park
In Tbilisi, 8 people joined us for an outdoor workshop. Before diving into photography, everyone introduced themselves without using standard labels - no jobs, titles, or cities- to help the group connect more naturally.

During the walk, we ran a few exercises:

🔍Human Camera: Working in pairs, one person kept their eyes closed while their partner guided them, opening their eyes for just a second to "snap" a single detail.

🔍Color Hunt: Looking at familiar nature in Mziuri Park and renaming colors with custom, creative names.

🔍Living Art: Finishing the day by working together to recreate a famous painting by Niko Pirosmani.

Through these activities, participants got to practice trust-building, creative thinking, and simply slowing down to pay closer attention to their surroundings.

2. Online Presentation (May 7)

Team gathered 10 participants online to talk about mindful photography and using visual tools for self-awareness. The team shared the photo series they created during the project, explained the assignments behind them, and answered questions from the group.

We're looking for young people from Georgia to join a fully funded international youth exchange in the Czech Republic this July - 10 days of dialogue, storytelling, and breaking out of your comfort zone with peers from across Europe. 🤝

✨ Bringing the learning home!

Our team had the incredible opportunity to take part in the Erasmus+ mobility project Body Narratives, held in the Czech Republic. The participants returned with new tools, fresh perspectives, and a deeper understanding of how the body and image can become powerful vehicles for expression and connection.

"Today We shared part of the experience we gained at the Body Narrative course in the Czech Republic (Erasmus+).

Photolangage is more than just choosing an image - it is an invitation to speak without pressure, to express without fear, and to be seen beyond words.
this activity opens a door to imagination and personal storytelling. When students select an image that represents them, they are engaging in a quiet form of self-portraiture. The image becomes a metaphor - a bridge between their inner world and the outside. In this space, there are no “right” or “wrong” answers, only interpretations.

After selecting their individual photos, participants continued working as a team to create a shared story, which made the activity even more meaningful. This process transformed separate images into a collective narrative, where each photo became a piece of a puzzle, carrying its own mood, symbolism, and voice.
Working together, participants listened to one another, negotiated ideas, and found ways to connect different perspectives into a coherent story. This encouraged flexibility, as they sometimes had to let go of their own ideas to support the group’s vision, while also developing problem-solving skills in a creative context.
Collaborative storytelling also strengthened the sense of connection within the group. It turned individual expression into collective meaning, showing participants that their voices matter not only individually, but also as part of something bigger.
In this way, the activity evolved from self-expression into co-creation - from “this is me” to “this is us.”"
