🧐 Wondering what good practices to adopt online? How to spot fake news or what the daily life of a journalist in Georgia looks like? 🧑‍💻
📌📒 Check out the handbook created during the Digital Literacy Frontier youth exchange – and as a bonus, learn more about the Erasmus+ programme!

🌍✨ In June, young people from Georgia, Austria, France and Armenia gathered in Kobuleti for an exchange organized by Blue Bollard, Youth Association Droni, TOUTA and Youth for Development Foundation.

For 8 days, participants explored the challenges of the digital world: detecting disinformation, strengthening their digital skills, and using media in a creative and responsible way. Through non-formal education workshops, interactive activities and intercultural exchange, they developed new competences while building lasting connections.

An + project showing that the digital world can be a powerful tool for connection, learning and active citizenship. 💻🤝

In Zugdidi, we hit the streets with two questions: 📢 Where do you get your news from? and 😊 Are you happy?

The answers? Let’s just say — it’s complicated.

Most people confessed they get their daily dose of “news” from social media 📱… or just from each other 👂.

This friendly but risky method of “information exchange” shows just how easy it is for fake news to spread fast ⚠️.

As for happiness? People smiled 😄, nodded, and said yes — maybe because they really feel good, or maybe they just didn’t want to get too deep on camera 😅🎥.

In the end, the survey gave us something real: not just answers, but a reminder 💬. In the age of misinformation, being happy is great 😊 — but being informed is even better 💡📚.

🚀On our 6th day of the project (on June 6th)

🎥we did a little street interview and tried to be close to our topic- digital literacy. Even though we don't have every one of them in our video we still got the answers we needed like, what platform they use to get information about ongoing news, if they were ever exposed to fake news and how to prevent believing fake news.

📊Most of the older generation we asked this question to said that they usually get information from facebook but the younger generation said that they follow TV channels on instagram like Formula, 1tv, radio Tavisufleba and so on.

🚨We also got a lot of interesting answers about being exposed to fake news and how they found out it was fake. But to sum up, it was really interesting to do these interviews with my friends and find out a thing or two about how others think.

🎥 Interview with Citizens about Traveling 🌍

What does travel mean to people? What opportunities does it create for us and for future generations? We were curious to know how prepared citizens are for traveling abroad, what barriers they face, and how much they know about the Erasmus+ program.

📌 Questions asked in the video:

What does travel mean to you?

What opportunities does travel give you?

Have you ever traveled? Where? If not – why?

What limitations do you have?

What does travel mean for your children?

Would you allow your children to travel? If yes – where? If not – why?

🎯 Through these questions, we wanted to find out:

How ready people are to travel personally and in regard to their children;

What challenges they face when they want to travel (economic, family-related, or other factors);

Whether they are informed about Erasmus+ programs and other international opportunities.

🎒 Travel means opportunities — personal development, education, new friends, and new experiences. We wanted to know if our fellow citizens see it the same way.

📊 The collected answers will help us create an overall picture — where we stand today, and how we can improve awareness and access to international projects.

📆 June 8 | Day 8 Report

Our last day startet off with a nice energiser. After a lot of fun it was time to recapitulate our stay, the learnings and the outcome. Several exercises helped us remember and document our nice stay. We filled in the Youthpass and feedback forms and after a heartwarming round of sharing our feelings in the group we were ready to enjoy the rest of the beautiful day at the beach with our friends and fellow colleagues. Our day ended with a romantic sunset at the beach and a farewell party.
We don’t say goodbye, we say see you again some time.

🕍Yesterday we had the field visit in Samegrelo region of Georgia and we visited the organizations, radio and TV in Zugdidi city.

🎤The visit was extremely important as we got a lot of insights of how the media works and how local people react on it. We also had the chance to ask questions and practice ourselves in the studio.

📽️After the visits, we did the street interviews and interacted with local people. This activity furthered our understanding of locals and how the media works here. We managed to get several interviews while inquiring how their life looks like, what they wish and how the media is shared from their own perspectives.

🍲In the evening, we had Georgian Supra, a table with Georgian food and drinks , where we shared lots of emotions and had a very nice time.

🔹We kicked off the day with debriefing our story visit in Public Broadcaster Adjara TV-Radio Trade Unions. We discussed our answered questions, checked the facts and thought about the ways of improving for the future opportunities.

🕺 Today our energizers and activities were organized by two counties-
France 🇫🇷 and Armenian 🇦🇲. With Armenian team we discussed some fake news in our little groups and talked about the solutions. And with French team we had debates about different topics , one team had to agree and one team disagree.

The sessions were insightful and imaginative, revealing how deeply connected we are in recognizing and responding to disinformation 🌐

🎶 We wrapped up the day with a French 🇫🇷 Cultural Evening, where the team gave us a taste of French traditions, music. (And yes, they taught us all French songs lyrics 🎤).

The Erasmus+ Youth Exchange “Digital Literacy Frontiers” is in full swing! Led by Blue Bollard, today ონ 4th of June centered on fake news, teamwork, and cultural exchange. 💭🌍

🔹 As part of our program, we also had the opportunity to visit the city of Batumi, where we explored its cultural and historical landmarks, gaining a deeper appreciation for the local environment and heritage.

📰 As part of our Erasmus+ project focused on digital literacy, we had the opportunity to visit Broadcaster Adjara TV-Radio Trade Unions. During the visit, we explored how the television channel operates behind the scenes, gaining insight into the production process and the role of digital tools in modern broadcasting. We also had the chance to ask questions and receive informative answers from the staff, which helped us better understand the importance of digital skills in media and communication today

🕺 We also had the opportunity to ask questions about how journalists verify information, how they differentiate between real and fake news, and the role of digital tools in ensuring accuracy and credibility. The staff explained the editorial process, the importance of reliable sources, and the measures taken to combat misinformation in today’s media landscape. This visit provided us with valuable insight into the responsibilities of media professionals and the critical role of digital literacy in journalism.

👇Overall, the day was both educational and inspiring. Visiting Adjara TV gave us a deeper understanding of how the media works and the importance of digital literacy in today’s information-driven world. Exploring the city of Batumi also enriched our cultural experience, making the day a perfect balance of learning and discovery.

🔹We kicked off the day with a fun name game — a simple way to ease into the morning and build connection.

Then came a creative challenge: we grouped ourselves based on how we mimic animal sounds in our own languages. 🐮🦆

📰 The first workshop focused on misinformation. Through a “real or fake?” guessing game, participants had to figure out which headlines were true.

🕺 After a short dancing energiser to shake things up, we moved into country presentations. Austrian 🇦🇹,
France 🇫🇷, Armenian 🇦🇲, and Georgian 🇬🇪 teams shared examples of fake news from their countries — From fake scandals to misleading news.

The session was eye-opening, creative, and showed just how connected we all are when it comes to spotting disinformation. 🌐

🎶 We wrapped up the day with an Austrian 🇦🇹 Cultural Evening, where the team gave us a taste of Austrian traditions, music. (And yes, they taught us how to waltz💃).
