♻️ IBDIPC chairman, Zviad Eliziani participated in final conference “Prevention of Food Waste at Source: The Role of Public Authorities. Strategic Approach for Sustainable Food Waste Management"” of Foodwise project organized in VARNA (Bulgaria), by project’s lead partner Асоциация БИО мрежа / BIO net ..
At conference was summarized the project outcomes reached by partners. The major achievements of project:
♻️ - Development of FOODWISE Toolkit – educational materials, public awarness campaign planning/implantation guide etc.
♻️ - Various events focusing on public awareness rising about food waste – Re-Plate Festival, Food Waste Patrol, I Value Food contest etc.
♻️ - Trainings for local municipalities and stakeholders
♻️ And finally it was announced launching of Black Sea FoodWISE Network. This will be voluntary platform for municipalities, institutions, and tourism bodies from Bulgaria, Greece, Georgia, and Turkiye. It will aim to implement collaborative or country specific actions, aiming – reducing food waste, Exchanging best practices in the circular economy, using resource efficiency through cross-border cooperation.
