Progressing Caribbean sport, one conversation at a time. 🌎🏅

Over the weekend, CANOC President Keith Joseph visited Trinidad and Tobago, connecting with Dr Roy McCree Dean of Faculty of Sport
during the UWI Games 2026 as discussions continue on strengthening the partnership between CANOC and UWI.

With plans surrounding a proposed Caribbean Olympic Studies and Research Centre (COSRC), the region moves another step closer to a future driven by research, education, innovation and Olympic values.

From 13 - 17 May, Prague became a meeting point for the global Sport for All movement during the TAFISA World Congress 2026.

From inspiring discussions and knowledge exchange to cultural experiences, networking opportunities and the election of a new TAFISA Board, the Congress brought together participants from across the world to explore how Sport for All can continue building bridges for inclusion, equity and harmony.

CANOC President Keith Joseph participated in the official Retreat of The University of the West Indies (UWI) Faculty of Sport at the St Augustine Campus in Trinidad and Tobago, following an invitation from Dean Dr Roy Mc Cree.

Discussions continue to strengthen the CANOC–UWI partnership, with focus on the proposed establishment of a Caribbean Olympic Studies & Research Centre and deeper collaboration in sport governance, education, and research across the region.

Mrs. Catherine Forde was honoured with Honorary Life Membership on the TAFISA Board after her years of service as Vice President for the Americas.

A strong advocate for Sport for All across the Caribbean, Mrs. Forde continues to champion inclusive sport, active living, and regional collaboration throughout the Americas.

CANOC Secretary General Brian Lewis attended the Trinidad and Tobago Paralympic Committee’s Fencing and Para-Fencing Workshop held from May 15–17 at the University of Trinidad and Tobago, San Fernando Campus 🤺🇹🇹

The workshop brought together international fencing representatives, athletes, coaches and local stakeholders in a collaborative effort aimed at advancing fencing and para-fencing development within T&T and the wider Caribbean region.

Lewis engaged with participants and officials throughout the workshop, highlighting the importance of regional collaboration, inclusivity and the continued growth of emerging sports across the Caribbean sporting landscape.
