The Grenada Special Care Foundation (GSCF) is a non-profit organization that is striving to make a difference in Grenada for premature babies. It was birthed from the experience of two parents, who after a 95-day hospital stay with their premature baby, ended not only with them walking out with a healthy baby, but also with them ruminating on how they could give back to the place that had been, in essence, their second home for such a long time.
When those two parents spoke to the doctors on duty, the original idea of creating a support group for the mothers of premature babies was discussed. However, the parents wanted to do even more, impacting not only the mothers, but the fathers, the hospitals, and even the other parents who have walked, and were yet to walk along the path of dealing with a premature baby.
The Grenada Special Care Foundation was officially established in May 2018. The Foundation seeks to:
