Dear Board, Members, Staff, Volunteers and Friends of the Red Cross Family,

Today, I join you with a heavy heart as we mourn the loss of our Immediate Past Vice President, Annmarie Francis-Benoit.

As President of the Grenada Red Cross Society, I have had the privilege of working alongside Annmarie and witnessing firsthand her unwavering commitment, wisdom, kindness, and dedication to our mission. Her guidance strengthened our Society, her friendship enriched our lives, and her presence brought comfort and encouragement to so many.

In this difficult time, I believe we honor Annmarie best by doing what she would have wanted us to do: continue the work she loved, support one another, cherish the memories we shared, smile when we remember the good times, and allow ourselves the grace to grieve when the tears come.

Personally, I feel a profound sense of loss. I am grateful for her counsel, her loyalty, and the many moments we shared in service to humanity. Her legacy will remain woven into the fabric of the Grenada Red Cross Society for years to come.

To our members, volunteers, and staff, please know that the Grenada Red Cross Society stands ready to support anyone who needs a listening ear, a comforting shoulder, or simply a space to share their grief.

Rest in peace, dear Ann Marie Francis Benoit. Thank you for your service, your friendship, and your love for the Red Cross family. You will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

+ Prepare an emergency kit with a mask, water, and long-sleeved clothing
+Follow the instructions issued by the authorities

📌 What you need to know: Once an eruption begins, it is too late to start planning your evacuation.

The spirit of friendship, learning, and service was on full display as the Red Cross Youth Groups of Hermitage Government School and River Sallee Government School came together for an exciting overnight youth exchange camp.

The camp provided a wonderful opportunity for students to build new friendships, develop life-saving skills, and strengthen the bonds that unite young humanitarians across our communities.

One of the highlights was an engaging First Aid session facilitated by the youth leaders, where participants learned essential skills that can help save lives and support others during emergencies. The learning continued beyond the classroom as the students gathered around the campfire to roast marshmallows, share stories, and create lasting memories.

The following morning began with energizing team-building activities that encouraged teamwork, communication, trust, and leadership. The exchange concluded with everyone enjoying breakfast together, reflecting on the experiences shared and the connections formed.

This youth exchange demonstrated the power of bringing young people together to learn, lead, and serve. We are proud of these young volunteers who continue to embody the Fundamental Principles of the Red Cross through friendship, compassion, and community service.

The Grenada Red Cross Society is issuing an immediate, urgent appeal to the public for blood donations on behalf of one of our long-standing executive members, who is currently hospitalized and in critical need at the Grenada General Hospital.
If you are able to donate, please proceed to the Grenada General Hospital Blood Bank as soon as possible. Your selfless act can save a life today.

How to Donate:
Location: Blood Bank, Grenada General Hospital, St. George's.
When: Immediately.
Patient Details: To protect privacy while ensuring the donation is directed correctly, please contact the Grenada Red Cross Society Office at 404-1483 before heading to the hospital to receive the necessary patient details for the replacement donation.

Please ensure you have eaten a healthy meal and are well-hydrated before donating.
Bring a valid form of identification.
Time is of the essence.
