World Environment Day 2026 🌍

Today, CYEN Grenada joins the global community under the theme “Inspired by Nature. For Climate. For Our Future.” Our forests, coral reefs, mangroves and wetlands are not just beautiful, they are our frontline defence against rising temperatures, stronger storms and coastal erosion. This World Environment Day, we are calling on every citizen, school, business and community organisation across Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique to take meaningful action: stop littering, ditch single-use plastics, plant what you eat, protect our ecosystems and get involved in your community. Every small action builds a stronger, greener and more resilient Grenada and the time to act is now. 💚🌱

CYEN Grenada Calls on Nation to Observe Earth Hour 2026

As a Small Island Developing State on the frontlines of climate change, Grenada has every reason to lead. This Saturday, CYEN Grenada is calling on every household, business, and institution in the nation to switch off non-essential lights from 8:30 p.m.
to 9:30 p.m. and to turn on awareness.

The Caribbean Youth Environment Network (CYEN) Grenada Chapter formally calls on all citizens, businesses, and institutions to participate in Earth Hour 2026, the annual global environmental initiative coordinated by the World Wildlife Fund for Nature (WWF). Earth Hour will be observed on Saturday, March 28, 2026, from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. By participating, Grenadians will join tens of millions of people across the globe in a unified act of commitment to climate action and environmental stewardship.

Grenada, like many Small Island Developing States (SIDS), faces acute and escalating threats from climate change including rising sea levels, increasingly severe storm systems, and the degradation of vital ecosystems. Earth Hour is not merely a symbolic gesture; it is an annual opportunity to demonstrate collective will and reaffirm Grenada’s dedication to a sustainable future.

“Earth Hour is not just about turning off lights, it is about turning on awareness. We encourage every household, business, and community group to participate and to reflect on how, together, we can build a more sustainable and resilient Grenada.” –
Krisma McDonald - CYEN Grenada Chapter President

Introducing the New CYEN Grenada Executive Team! 🌱

The Caribbean Youth Environment Network (CYEN)—Grenada Chapter successfully held its Annual General Meeting on March 2nd, 2026, at the True Blue Conference Room, where members came together to reflect on our journey, discuss the future of the organization, and elect a new leadership team to guide the chapter forward.

We are excited to introduce the newly elected Executive:

✨ President: Krima McDonald
✨ Vice President: Nnandi Robinson
✨ Secretary: Jevaire Baptiste
✨ Treasurer: Reeane Springle

The team will continue to be supported by Abigail Ellis, National Coordinator, and Trevor Thompson, National Advisor.

This new Executive represents the energy, passion, and commitment of our membership, and we are confident they will continue strengthening youth leadership, environmental advocacy, and sustainable development initiatives across Grenada. 🌍

👏 Please join us in congratulating the new team and wishing them success as they begin this important work!

We also extend sincere thanks to all members who participated in the AGM and continue to support CYEN’s mission of empowering young people to protect and sustain our environment.

💚 The work continues, and the future is green with CYEN!
