READ: John 12:1-8

Memory verse:I beseech you therefore... present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God...
Romans 12:1

Remember that it was no other person than Judas Iscariot who criticized the woman with the alabaster box.
This woman poured out her expensive perfume on Jesus. It was the most valuable thing she had. Women know what their hair means to them. A woman's hair symbolizes her beauty. Mary sacrificed her beauty and her valuable things for Jesus.
It is true that this woman had been living in sin. However, she gave what was most precious to her - her hair, her perfume and her tears to Jesus. But Judas Iscariot, the honourable treasurer of the team (your treasurer is usually the most trusted person in the organization) didn't like it. Even though it wasn't his alabaster box, his life or his hair that were being sacrificed, he was against it.
The appearances of people, who are antichrist or anti-sacrifice, can be very deceptive. The anti-sacrifice, anti-give-upeverything, anti-do-a-lot, anti-give-a-lot spirit is the spirit of the Antichrist. These people often present themselves as being very decent, very logical, very organized, and dignified. But it is still the spirit of the Antichrist.

READ: Ezekiel 2:1-5; 22-24

Memory verse: While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.
Acts 10:44

God is trying to show you that you need the anointing. It is only when you are anointed that your ministry will begin to make a difference to the lost masses of humanity.
The prophet Ezekiel experienced the anointing entering his life one day. Ezekiel sensed that the power and the anointing of the Spirit had entered into him whilst he was listening to the Word.
And the spirit entered into me when he spake unto me…
Ezekiel 2:2
Ezekiel said very clearly in this Scripture that the Holy Spirit entered into him when he was being spoken to. Peter, the apostle, also noticed this phenomenon. He noticed that the power of the Holy Spirit fell on people as he preached. Do you remember when Peter was preaching to the Gentiles? The Bible says that as he ministered the Word, the Spirit of God fell on the people.
While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.
Acts 10:44
If the gift of the Holy Spirit could fall on people whilst Peter was preaching, then surely the gift of the Holy Spirit can fall on you when any other anointed man of God is preaching. This is simple logic.

READ: Revelation 20:1-10

Memory verse: For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God...
2 Corinthians 10:4

If your eyes were opened spiritually , you would suddenly see millions of people in spiritual captivity . They are captive to demon powers that are loose on this earth.
Our duty as Ministers is to weaken the grip of these demonic powers over the souls on this earth. At best, our spiritual warfare can dislodge, displace or temporarily relocate demonic forces so that God's kingdom can gain ascendancy for a season. Satan has a lease period that he is exploiting to the fullest. He reminded Jesus that he had a lease and a right to be around. He reminded Jesus that it was not yet time to be put out of the earth: Matthew 8:29.
A time will come when Satan will be permanently removed from the earth. That job will be done by a mighty angel from Heaven. Our duty is just to weaken the stronghold so that some captives can escape. We can weaken the stronghold of the devil by prayer. When this grip is weakened, the captives will walk away in freedom. Our greatest weapon is prayer. That is why nothing happens when there is no prayer. That is why a lot happens when people pray! That is why the devil is doing everything to prevent you from praying.
Because the devil knows that we have no weapons in the natural, he often tries to keep us operating in the natural realm. What a mistake it is to function mainly in the natural; a realm where we are unarmed and "weaponless"! May the Lord open your eyes to understand this revelation of prayer!

READ: Psalm 92:12-15

Memory verse: …He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
John 15:5

Jesus is saying here that you and I cannot bear fruit, except we abide in Him. This means, to stay , to be planted, to be resident; to remain in Christ and to continue in the things of God.
You see, you have to abide in the same place for some time in order to become productive in that very place. After all, every tree has to be nurtured over a period until it can bear fruits on its own. No mango tree can bear fruits after just one year.
For example, many of the pastors and elders in our church have been abiding here for a long time - abiding Christians who have developed into fruitful leaders. It is only by staying here to be watered and tended, that they have grown to become useful in this very place. However, many Christians do not allow themselves to get to this point, because whenever they are planted, they uproot themselves. A tree that is often transplanted will never, ever grow to its full, fruit-bearing potential. Are you having problems trying to affect your peers? Just keep at it. Continue in the good work. With time, they will begin to respond. This is because you get stronger and stronger as you abide.
Dear Christian, God wants you to have a restful spirit. Be stable in church. Be permanent, abide. Make a quality decision to be planted in a Spirit-filled, Bible-believing church. Then decide to remain rooted until your fruits begin to show.

Memory verse: ..for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him...
2 Timothy 1:12

You must be fully convinced in your heart about anything in which you are involved. To be a committed member of a ministry team requires what I call full persuasion. If you are going to be loyal to me, you will have to be sure about me. Am I somebody you can trust? Am I somebody who is what he claims to be?
In Acts 24:5, Paul was accused of being: “…a ringleader of the sect...” (King James Version), “…a source of mischief...” (New Testament in Modern Speech), “…a veritable plague...” (Berkeley Version of the New Testament), “...a public pest...” (Twentieth Century New Testament), “…a disturber of the peace...” (Weymouth translation).
Anyone working with Paul would have to be fully persuaded about his character. Was there any truth in any of these terrible accusations? The answer is no. It is important to establish in your heart all the facts about the ministry or person with whom you're working. Be fully persuaded so that when the accusations, trials and tests come, you will be able to remain faithful.
Find out the truth behind every rumour. You see, in the normal experience of ministry there will be numerous accusations and rumours about every man of God. If you have many questions in your mind, you will not be a loyal member of a ministry . Answer the questions for yourself or leave.

TOUCH OF GOD

READ: Luke 4:14 -19
Memory verse: He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.
Psalm 147:3

Divine healing is the healing that comes from God. Many people do not appreciate the complex problems of the human race, which need the touch of God.
Jesus' healing ministry specifically mentioned the healing of the broken-hearted. To have a broken heart is to suffer from deep disappointment; to have a devastating experience that leaves a person without hope, faith or love. The Greek word for broken heart is santribo and it means, "to be shattered". Christ came into the world to save men from their shattered dreams and aspirations.
Many ladies are devastated by the twists and turns of unfaithful and lying men. God is healing any disappointment you have. He is repairing your heart.
Sometimes you are just about to get a new job but for some reason you were not selected. If you allow God to heal your disappointment, you will look back one day and thank God for taking you through that trial.
He is also healing the hearts of all those who have lost their positions in life. When you lose a position in life, this may affect your finances, your comforts and the quality of your family life. God is healing the hearts of all such people.
Sin has an effect on our spiritual well-being. There are some people who can't sleep because of their sins. God also brings healing for all your mistakes (Psalm 41:4).
Divine healing covers all the aspects of healing.

HUSBANDS
Dag Heward-Mills

READ: Ephesians 5:22-33

Memory verse: Likewise ye husbands... giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel ...
1 Peter 3:7

The word "husband" comes from some Anglo-Saxon words, which mean "house band". This implies a strip of metal (or rope) used to bind the house together. A husband therefore binds the home together in terms of its organisation and control.
He is the head of the family (1 Corinthians 11:3). As head of the family, he is to exercise authority in bringing up the children. He must show leadership by providing direction and guidance.

Again, he ought to show responsibility in decision making. He should not shirk it, so that he can blame another when things backfire. The man must rule his home spiritually, financially and socially. The man is held responsible for anything that goes wrong in the home, e.g. divorce, rebellious children, unhappy wife etc. When Adam and Eve sinned against God and He entered the garden, He first called Adam and asked, "Where are you?"

A husband ought to love his wife. He should give himself to her sacrificially , present her back to himself; nourish, and cherish her (with the Word of God and physical things). It is for his own good to nourish, cherish and beautify his wife. In that way, the man is presenting the woman back to himself. He should let her feel loved, wanted and accepted - make her feel happy at home (Ecclesiastes 9:9). He should also protect her, seeing she is a weaker vessel.

FREE FROM FEAR
Dag Heward-Mills

READ: Hebrews 2:14-18
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
2 Timothy 1:7

The madman of Gadara was led by demons to roam through lonely mountains and graveyards. This frightening scenario made the poor man cry constantly. You can see from this that demons love to frighten their victims. Fear is a pervading sign of the presence of demons (Mark 5:5).
In my opinion, the commonest sign of demon activity is fear. The pervading presence of demons is most easily noticed by the presence of fear. Most kinds of fear are of demonic origin! Through fear, Satan is able to keep most people in bo***ge.
When fear gets a hold of you, you become immobilized and unable to do the things God tells you to do. Fear takes away strength! "What about if it doesn't work? What about if she dies? What about if he gets cancer? What about if she is barren?" There are many things to fear. These fears paralyze you and make you unable to do the will of God. Go in the opposite direction to where fear is leading you. That is how to overcome fear. Do the opposite of your fears. I know that fear is an evil spirit. I must not be controlled by evil spirits!
Traditionally , fear has not been labelled as a very evil thing. It is seen more as a weakness that some are prone to. Do not be deceived dear friend; fear is one of the highest kinds of demonic attacks anyone can experience. Fear has the power to change completely the course of your life if you allow it. May the power of God set you free from every evil spirit of fear!

Shalom!!!

TWO FACES
Dag Heward-Mills

READ: Romans 2:1-11..purify your hearts, ye double minded.
James 4:8

People who are Christians and yet live different lifestyles in secret are guilty of duality: A double standard life. It is the art of having two personalities or two natures embodied in one person.
A person manifests duality when he has one lifestyle displayed in public, and another one shown in private. He exhibits one behaviour pattern in public to impress the people around. He shows another behaviour secretly. For those who claim to be Christians, one lifestyle is displayed in church, and the other, outside of church.
Duality encourages the spirit of hypocrisy, the spirit of lies and the spirit of self-deception.
There are some who are very nice in public, but extremely nasty at home. Their spouses and children know them to be very impatient and abusive, but those outside the home see them as the sweetest people on earth.
Many husbands have complained to me that they cannot help but notice the humility and gentleness, which their wives reserve for their pastors and outsiders. This makes them feel that their spouses respect and love their pastors more than their own husbands.
Such a wife or husband has a dual life. They have two different natures: the nasty nature, which they display in private (usually those close to them have to endure it), and the nice nature, which they display openly.

OBEY

Dag Heward-Mills

READ: Genesis 11:26-32; 12:1-9

By faith Abraham ...obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.

Hebrews 11:8

The word "sacrifice" brings to us, terrifying images of suffering and loss. In fact, our human analysis would rate sacrifice above obedience any day. On the contrary , God makes it clear that "to obey is better than to sacrifice" (1 Samuel 15:22).

The word "better" means "greater, to be preferred, an improved version, superior, enhanced, more acceptable, more favourable, higher quality, augmented and more desirable! The following reasons will explain why obedience is a greater thing compared to sacrifice.

It is greater to obey without fully understanding, than it is to sacrifice. It is often not easy to understand the implications of what you are doing. The reason why we do not understand is due to our stage of maturity in the Lord. I believe we will never fully understand what God has asked us to do until we begin to do it. Notice the Scripture, John 7:17. It shows us that it is when you do the will of God that you know His will.

It is better to obey a command that you would not naturally do, than it is to sacrifice. When the Lord directed me into the healing ministry , I did not fully understand the effect that it would have on my ministry . Until then, I had operated mostly as a teacher and preacher. Naturally speaking, I am a more calculating and logical person. It was not natural for me to move by the Spirit or minister things that are spiritual. It is one of the most difficult things I have ever done and I am ever grateful for people who helped me cross that barrier.

Shalom!

QUIET TIME
Dag Heward-Mills

READ: James 3:13-18
For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. ...He taketh the wise in their own craftiness.
1 Corinthians 3:19

A quiet time will show you that there are two kinds of wisdom: human cleverness and the wisdom of God.

A quiet time will also show you that human cleverness is a poor substitute for the wisdom of God. A quiet time makes you move progressively away from human cleverness and towards the wisdom of God. A quiet time introduces you to real wisdom because you begin to fear, respect and obey God (Psalm 111:10).

The quiet time is the key to God's wisdom and therefore to your promotion. By having a quiet time you exalt wisdom in your life and therefore bring yourself to honour: Proverbs 4:7, 8.

A quiet time is your key to wisdom and therefore your key to victory: Ecclesiastes 9:18.
A quiet time is your key to becoming wealthy because you have access to the wisdom of God.
Riches and honour are with me; yea, durable riches and righteousness. That I may cause those that love me to inherit substance; and I will fill their treasures.
Proverbs 8:18, 21

Have a daily quiet time and reap all these benefits!
