In partnership with York City Council, we are excited to be launching a free 9-week project called “A Story in Your Pocket”.

The project will explore the history of the Guildhall Ward area of York, as well as looking at the present green spaces within the city and the natural species and habitats that live in the area.
The aim of the project is to bring together people who live within the Guildhall Ward to use creative writing and the arts to celebrate the area in which they live.

To join, you must be a resident of the Guildhall Ward area of York. No prior experience is needed, just a willingness to participate, have fun and take part in an interesting project!

Sessions will be held every Thursday from 11am to 12:30pm, from 4th June to 30th July at York St John University.

To express an interest in being part of this course please email [email protected].

We still have a few places left on our mini set of ‘Not a Book Club’ sessions starting next week at Explore Hungate Reading Cafe. We’ll be meeting every Thursday from 10.30-11.45 over 6 weeks starting on Thursday 23rd January. Beat the winter blues and come join us for some storytelling and lots of coffee! (apologies for the squished appearance of our poster!)

You are invited to share your feedback on the revised plans for the Castle and Eye of York area.

Part of the brief is to re-provide the blue badge parking spaces that currently exist within the Castle car park.

We want to go beyond that and make sure that all the features within the site are accessible and inclusive, from play to seating to parking to access routes.

Find out more about blue badge parking options in our latest video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=rfvDxKIMJYs&t=460s
