'Coptoberfest' is an annual Charity Beer Festival set in St. In it's inaugural year of 2014, the chosen beneficiaries, St. Leonards Hospice (situated on Tadcaster Rd. York), St. Giles Church in Copmanthorpe and two Community Groups in Copmanthorpe benefited from nearly ยฃ3k jointly, a great effort in our first year ... the festival now raises ยฃ5-7k each year! Inside St. Giles Church, we have around
30 beers from the surrounding area, including those from the nearest brewery & main-sponsor 'Ainsty Ales Brewery & Taproom', as well as ciders, gin, wine & prosecco, locally-made pork pies and live-music. Copmanthorpe Community Choir start musical proceedings followed by some great local bands, with mouth-watering Pie's from 'Ged Bell Family Pie-Maker' to keep the hunger-pains away! In addition to food & drink supplied at the Beer Festival we also have the following in Copmanthorpe ..... Royal Oak PH, Little Acorns Cafe, Banophool Spice (Indian take-away), Sizzling Plate (Indian restaurant), Copmanthorpe Chippy, Red Hot Chinese (takeaway) and Pizza Time (takeaway). We hope you enjoy our Charity Beer Festival and make use of all that Copmanthorpe has to offer .... please respect our village, its residents, clean up after yourselves and leave quietly and safely .... but above all enjoy yourself and we hope to see you year upon year!
