Older Citizens Advocacy York We are an advocacy organization for people aged 50+ who live in the City of York. Its a free, independent and confidential service putting people first.

Advocacy simply means supporting people to say what they want to say to the people or organisations they want to say it to. At Citizens Advocacy York (OCAY) our advocates are killed volunteers trained to assist people in making their voices heard over issues that are important to them. Advocates can help by:

Finding information, including helpful contacts. Telling people about their rights and m

aking sure they are respected. Attending meetings and appointments with people. Helping to write letters and fill in forms. Supporting people to challenge decisions they do not agree with. Helping with making complaints. Supporting people in accessing the services they need.
