What an exciting summer planned at York Castle Museum.
The themes lean into two historical ‘summer’ traditions.
💜 The Victorian York Gala
💜 The swinging sixties

Inspired by the Victorian York Gala, a hot air balloon workshop will take place throughout the summer with local Yorkshire artist Pippa Dyrlaga.

There will be lots of street entertainment, games, live music and fun for the family.

This is certainly one to visit this summer 💜

The Place

What a fantastic hidden gem in York!

The Place offers a wide range of free activities for children, young people and adults living in the Westfield ward Area. From after school clubs and community groups to school support and holiday activities, there’s so much available for local families.

We visited the Community Corner baby and toddler group and were so impressed. There was plenty to keep little ones entertained, including story time, singing, play activities, snacks and lunch.
Parents and carers can also make use of the self-weigh station, enjoy a coffee and adults can even get involved with some crafts.

It’s such a welcoming and supportive space at the heart of the community, and well worth checking out if you’re local.

Keep an eye out for their summer holiday activities too they’ll be added to the Mumbler website as soon as they’re released.
