Friends of Rawcliffe Meadows

Friends of Rawcliffe Meadows Rawcliffe Meadows is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), looked after by Friends to improve biodiversity and protect the rare Tansy beetle.

Rawcliffe Meadows is an ancient flood meadow along the river Ouse in York. Following the Environment Agency ignoring our advice in the process of deciding to raise the barrier bank in 2019/2020 we agreed to stop work when they started. This page is a memorial to our 30 years of commitment and hard work preserving this important and once historic site.
