Arts centre to host The Slambovian Circus of Dreams

Explore the depths of Americana “one fun, trippy tune at a time” with New York’s Slambovian Circus of Dreams when they play Pocklington Arts Centre.
The band will be at the Market Place venue on Saturday, September 5.
The Slambovians’ history in the UK goes back to 2008, with this tour being their 13th trip across the pond!
This year band returns to the UK following successful 2022 and 2024 tours where they were voted “Best Band” by fans and promoters alike.
With vocals described as “soothing and bewitching as a snake oil tonic”, Joziah Longo leads the festivities while Tink Lloyd (accordion, cello, flute) charms and guitarist/mandolin wizard Sharkey McEwen mixes up the magic Slambovian brew with RJ McCarty (keys, banjo), Bob Torsello (bass), and Matthew Abourezk (drums).
A spokesperson said: “Voted Best Band in their home state of New York by Chronogram Magazine, the Slambovians’ exciting live shows are legendary. Rootsy, rockin’ psychedelia, fantastic stories and songs are the perfect vehicle for this Woodstock-tinged Americana.
“A cool mix of Southern Rock, Celtic and British folk is combined with solid songwriting, earning them a chapter in 2025’s Rock & Roll Underdogs, a music history profile of great bands of the 20th century!"
Go to the Pocklington Arts Centre website (pocklingtonartscentre.co.uk) or call the box office on 01759 301547 to buy tickets.
