🏡✨ Students at Joseph Rowntree Secondary School got a glimpse into the future of their community during a Year 7 assembly, led by colleagues from Joseph Rowntree Housing Trust (JRHT) and Esh Construction.

The session brought to life how their neighbourhood is evolving, helping students understand the changes taking place and the important role they can play in shaping their community for the future.

We are immensely proud to stand alongside LGBTQ+ residents, colleagues, partners and communities, celebrating inclusion, visibility and belonging. York Pride is a powerful reminder of why creating safe and welcoming communities is so important.

We’re committed to creating communities where LGBTQ+ residents, colleagues and customers feel welcome, respected and valued communities where everyone feels safe and has a place to call home.

Pop into the New Earswick Folk Hall Digital Cafe for a free, friendly session where no question is too simple or too complicated. Led by our Digital Inclusion Officer, it’s all about getting help and learning your way in a relaxed setting!

What we can help with:
👉 Tech Support: Get your phone or laptop set up and running smoothly.
👉 Getting Online: Learn how to access council services or navigate the web.
👉 Free Data: Enquire about accessing digital devices or grab a free SIM card and data.

The Details:
📍 Where: Discovery Room, The Folk Hall, New Earswick (YO32 4AQ).
⏰ When: The 3rd Thursday of every month, 10am to 12noon.

🏡 An exciting new chapter is beginning in New Earswick!

Work is now underway on 117 affordable homes, in partnership with Esh Construction — helping more people find somewhere they can truly call home.

The development will include a mix of one- and two-bedroom apartments, alongside two- and three-bedroom houses, supporting a range of local housing needs.

We’re already seeing great progress on site, with the first foundations and initial brickwork nearing completion and drainage works starting soon. It’s fantastic to see this new neighbourhood beginning to take shape.

These homes will also feature energy-efficient technology such as air source heat pumps, solar panels and battery storage — helping to reduce carbon emissions and lower energy use.

We’re proud to be working with Homes England, Brewster Bye Architects and BWA (Europe) Ltd to bring this development to life.
