It is with heavy hearts that we wish to share the news that one of our founding members, Bob Stone, died peacefully on Tuesday following a period of declining health. He was in the company of those closest to him.
Bob was one of the earliest members of our community, with us since the Guppy days (very early on!), and brought an enthusiasm with him that made the room buzz, and shared a great fondness for gadgets, radio, and retro computing. He was instrumental in the creation of Spacehack, a game which York Hackspace became known for. It was featured in several magazines, and Bob and other members toured with it to many makerfaires and community events across the UK - as well as EMFCamp.
