It’s been a lovely week so far! 🥰
We’ve been busy cooking and baking, chatting, having fun, and enjoying plenty of laughs. We’ve also found time to get creative with some painting 🎨🍰🍲

It isn’t very often that we get to sample the bakes made on Wednesday for our Thursday coffee morning! ☕️🍰
But with the coffee morning cancelled this week due to the hot forecast, we decided to bake anyway — and enjoy the treats ourselves! 😋

On the menu today:
🍓 Rhubarb & crumble cake, served still warm straight from the oven
🍪 Oat & fruit cookies
🍫 Rocky road

Sometimes you just have to make the most of the situation! ❤️

☀️ Coffee Morning Update ☀️

Due to the hot weather, tomorrow’s Coffee Morning at The Hut is cancelled.

The Hut will still be open as usual for members.

The safety and wellbeing of everyone comes first. Please take care, keep cool and stay hydrated. 💧🧡

What a fantastic day we've had! 🌟

Our morning was full of energy and laughter as we welcomed the wonderful team from York Theatre Royal for a fun and engaging drama workshop. Everyone had the opportunity to get involved, whether it was acting out different characters, playing interactive games, or simply enjoying watching the performances. It was amazing to see so many smiles, plenty of laughter, and lots of confidence shining through. Thank you to the team for bringing so much enthusiasm and helping us create such a memorable morning! 🎭✨

This afternoon, we swapped the stage for the paintbrushes and got creative by giving some of our furniture a colourful makeover. It's always so rewarding to see everyone's creativity come to life, and we can't wait to show off the finished results! 🎨🖌️

With a little help from their friends, Tom and Lauren will be taking on York 10K this coming Sunday. This fundraiser has certainly taken some training!! If you'd like to make a donation, they would be thrilled or if you'd like to cheer them on the day- that would also be fantastic! 🏃

🍳🥖 We love cooking and baking at The Hut!

Our members enjoy preparing a wide variety of delicious dishes and bakes inspired by different regions and cultures. Every session is a chance to learn new cooking skills, build confidence in the kitchen, and, of course, enjoy tasting the finished creations!

Our members have learnt so much along the way, from trying new recipes to mastering different techniques. There's always something new to discover, and plenty of fun to share around the table.
