Hello everyone,

We’re exploring the idea of regular Wednesday meet-ups for older children, teens and their grownups.

Some would be free park gatherings, while others might be low-cost activities such as bowling, trampolining, geocaching, laser tag, wildlife parks, beach trips and other adventures in and around York.

These would be informal opportunities to meet up, socialise and spend time together rather than structured sessions.

Parents/carers would remain responsible for their children throughout, making their own way to and from activities and staying on site for the duration. Evolving Roots would simply be providing opportunities for families to connect and spend time together.

We’re kicking things off with our Rowntree Park meet-up on Wednesday 17th at 1pm, and we’d love to hear your thoughts.

✨ Another wonderfully creative week at Evolving Roots ✨

This week we’ve been sewing sock monkeys, creating button art, painting canvases, making crystal art and designing masks too 🎨🧵✨

Alongside the art and creativity, there’s also been time for conversation, connection, games, laughter and simply feeling comfortable enough to be yourself.

🌊✨ Our final Tuesday session (for now) ✨🌊

Tonight we finished our block of Tuesday after school art sessions with these amazing underwater pieces 🐬🦀🐚

We couldn’t be prouder of what this group has created together 💙

It’s been such a special space over the past 18 weeks, and it’s been so lovely to watch confidence grow and friendships form along the way.

Although Tuesdays are taking a little pause for now, we’re so grateful to everyone who’s been part of it, and we really hope to bring these sessions back when funding opportunities arise 💛

Thank you to all the wonderful children and their families for being part of it 🌿
