🌿 Just 10 Days Until Our Online Breath Body Mind Course Begins 🌿

A few places are still available for June's online Breath Body Mind Course - and if you’ve been thinking about joining, now's a good time to book.

Breath Body Mind (BBM) is for unpaid carers looking for practical ways to reduce stress, regulate the nervous system, sleep better, feel calmer, and reconnect with themselves in a gentle and supportive environment.

✨ Benefits reported by participants on the latest course:
• "The BBM exercises keep me mentally, physically and spiritually connected and well - which enables me to give what I need to give."
• "I rely upon these techniques in times of strain or restlessness."
• "When anxious, it calms me. When I have insomnia, it aids relaxation."
• "I now approach arising problems in a more relaxed and balanced way."

Over the coming weeks, we’ll explore simple breathing practices, movement, and meditation techniques that can be adapted to your own pace and needs.

Many people feel unsure before starting something new - especially online or in a group setting - and that’s completely normal. BBM is trauma-informed, flexible, and there is never any pressure to do more than feels right for you. You are always welcome to go gently.

One of the things we love most about BBM is seeing people realise that calm isn’t something distant or complicated - sometimes it begins with simply giving yourself one quiet hour to breathe and reconnect.

In the first session, we’ll ease in gradually, introduce the core practices, and create a relaxed, welcoming space where everyone can settle comfortably.

Partners in Dementia had an opportunity to connect with the local community, share vital resources, and chat with many wonderful people about how we can better support those living with dementia and their families.

We are incredibly grateful for Santander UK's hospitality and commitment to making a difference.

To everyone who stopped by to chat, ask questions, or grab some information - thank you for your time and support!

We’re now 3 weeks out from our June 2026 Online Breath Body Mind (BBM) course!

Supporting carers works best when we do it together - across community services, local networks, health providers, and voluntary organisations.

If you are a GP practice, community hub, carer service, or local organisation supporting people in York and beyond, we’d love your help in sharing this opportunity with the people you work with.

Many carers don’t identify themselves as carers, meaning they can miss out on support that’s designed specifically for them. With your help, we can reach more of those “hidden carers” who may benefit from this course but wouldn’t otherwise come across it.

We’re especially grateful for:
- Sharing the course booking link within your networks: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/free-breath-body-mind-sessions-online-tickets-1981564934060
- Helping amplify messages about local carers support
- Highlighting the importance of recognising and supporting carers early.

We also want to acknowledge and thank the local partners, venues, and organisations who help make this work possible - this is a shared effort, and every connection helps widen the reach.

If your service works with carers, please consider sharing this course information with your community.
Together, we can help ensure carers are seen, supported, and not doing this alone.

We were proud to see Beetle Bank Social Farm featured in a recent Financial Times article exploring how gardening, social farming and nature-based activities are supporting people living with dementia and neurodegenerative conditions.

The piece highlights something we see every week at Beetle Bank: people thrive when they are given meaningful opportunities to contribute, connect and spend time outdoors in a supportive community.

At Beetle Bank, activities range from caring for animals and planting vegetables to building raised beds and sharing time together around the farm. The focus is not on limitations, but on creating a space where people feel valued, included and purposeful.

One line from the article captured this beautifully:
“People with dementia can report a loss of purpose and achievement. Our group doesn’t advertise itself as ‘come and take your gardening medicine’, but as ‘we need your help to get things done’.”

As the number of people living with dementia continues to rise across the UK, we hope approaches like social farming and therapeutic horticulture receive the recognition and support they deserve.

Thank you to the Financial Times for highlighting the importance of dementia-friendly community spaces and the positive impact nature and connection can have on wellbeing.

5 weeks to go will we launch our next online Breath Body Mind course for unpaid carers who live in or around York 💙

Thinking about joining us… but feeling unsure?

That’s completely normal. Almost everyone in our current course started with the same thoughts - Will this work for me? Will I feel comfortable? Am I doing it right?

You’re welcome here exactly as you are.

And here’s what changed for them!

What started as hesitation turned into real, everyday benefits:
✨ More calm - feeling less overwhelmed and more grounded
✨ More control - over breath, body, and emotional responses
✨ Better sleep - settling the mind and body more easily at night

Many participants now use these simple BBM tools at home - not perfectly, just practically - because they work.

You don’t need experience.

You don’t need to get it “right.”

Just come as you are, and see what shifts.

If you're an unpaid carer, based in/around York, you can book your free spot here: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/free-breath-body-mind-sessions-online-tickets-1981564934060
